REVIEW: The Attercop by Peter E Fenton (The Declan Hunt Mysteries #4)

Image
THE ATTERCOP The Declan Hunt Mysteries - Book Four by Peter E. Fenton Release Date: August 4, 2026 Review Awww, Charlie and Declan have come such a long way together. Like proper adult coupling! Running a successful business, and still getting into trouble. Someone is playing games with them, and it’s anybody's guess if they’ll figure it out. But in the process, they also seem to fully settle into their relationship and find peace in their relationships with family and friends. And the case had an interesting twist at the end. It’s entirely satisfying, as by book four we are ‘slightly’ invested in Declan and Charlie’s relationship. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF LGBTQIA DETECTIVE ROMANCE PETER E. FENTON Book four in the Declan Hunt Mysteries series How far would you be willing to go to keep the one you love? Charlie Watts has found the perfect partner in Declan Hunt, and he hopes that they can spend the rest of their lives together. But wh...

REVIEW: Mystery Magnet by Gregory Ashe (The Last Pick #1)

Image
MYSTERY MAGNET The Last Picks - Book One by Gregory Ashe Release Date: April 29, 2024 Review Finally read my first Gregory Ashe book after adding many of his books to my TBR!  And I am definitely a fan. This is a cozy mystery that would be at home with all the british murder mysteries i watch.  Full of quirky characters, fun and wild scenarios, and of course a good murder or two. Dash crosses the country for a job, to find himself having to defend himself from a murder charge. With plenty of chaos and twists and turns to entertain. I’m absolutely here for the rest of the series. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis He was born to write mysteries. Now, he has to solve them. When Dashiell Dawson Dane moves across the country to a small seaside town called Hastings Rock, he has one goal: get away from his ex. Okay, two goals - because he wouldn't mind a little help from his new boss, celebrity mystery author Vivienne Carver. With Vivienne's mentorship, Dash is sure...

REVIEW: Variable Onset by Layla Reyne (Wild Type #1)

Image
VARIABLE ONSET A Wild Type - Book One by Layla Reyne Release Date: June 16, 2026 Review Layla Reyne is incredible at writing Lawmen solving cases and falling in love.  I always love the cases just as much as the couple. And Carter and Lincoln may prove to be one of my favourites (though, sorry boys, you’ll never be able to top Emmitt & Levi!). Lincoln is the responsible one, the safe one, but then he is sent on an undercover assignment with his biggest temptation. Carter is younger, brash, and absolutely pining for his former instructor. I love that contradiction.  Somewhere along the way of chase bad men, they discover they are better together, not just as agents, but as people too! And I have no doubt they will get up to some fun as they continue to solve crimes. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Special Agent Lincoln Monroe never breaks rules. Especially the one that says Carter Warren, his former student turned cocky field agent, is off-limits. Except...

REVIEW: The Drop by Elle Keaton (Subtle Deceptions #4)

Image
THE DROP Subtle Deceptions - Book Four by Elle Keaton Release Date: June 11, 2026 Review I’ve loved Gabe & Casey’s romance, and the murdery, suspenseful shenanigans they get themselves involved in.  Darkness lurks in this small town, and Gabe’s past brings plenty of opportunities for problems. And I love that Casey was the one to get into ‘trouble’. Gabe’s been rubbing off on the straight-laced man. It was missing a bit more of the actual romance, but the storyline was entertaining, and I’ll never tire of Elton. The snarky old man makes me smile.  And I loved the ending. I’m sorry to see them go, but like Gabe’s family, I won’t be surprised if we see them again sometime. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Curiosity might just kill Gabriel Karne after all. It’s only Monday morning and Gabriel Karne is already knee-deep in murder. Roy Wilson, a Westfort pastor with a murky past, turns up dead. Was the man a bad guy turned good? Or was he, as Gabe and Elton s...

REVIEW: His First Surrender by Max Walker (Stonewall Investigations Miami #3)

Image
HIS FIRST SURRENDER Stonewall Investigations Miami - Book Three by Max Walker Release Date: February 23, 2020 Audio Release Date: July 13, 2021 Review Another enjoyable edition to the Stonewall Investigations world. Not my favourite of the cases, but I loved Rocky and Sam’s romance. It was cute and tentative, which blossomed into something strong and beautiful. It started in the worst way.  Sam is a suspect in Rocky’s latest case. Not the best of starts, and as it becomes clear Sam is not responsible, and in fact, possibly in danger, these two grow closer. Rocky is so kind and respectful of Sam, but what I really loved was him finding someone to let in again. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis SAM CLARK Family, friends, and video games. The three things that define my life. When a fourth variable gets added in the form of a smoldering detective named Rocky Hudson, suddenly everything changes. Life isn’t as simple anymore, and it begins to start feeling like a new ...
