REVIEW: Rookie Moves by Jodi Oliver (The Rookie Diaries #1)

Image
ROOKIE MOVES The Rookie Diaries - Book One by Jodi Oliver Release Date: September 24, 2026 Review Really enjoyed Colby and Tyler. They are both green flags and fit beautifully together. Their relationship is relatively low angst, but there is some angst in their external life. I love how they helped each other deal with the things that were troubling them, and achieve happiness on their own terms.   Their initial coming together was amusing, but Tyler is a fantastic teacher, so Colby definitely chose right. Looking forward to seeing where these two end up in book 2. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis COLBY For almost ten years, the world of hockey has had their eyes on me, watching my every move. I’m projected to be the first overall pick in the NHL draft this summer, and have been nicknamed a franchise altering talent. But with high praise comes a lot of pressure I can’t escape, and has resulted in me being a rookie in more ways than one. The only problem is ...

REVIEW: Rookie Attraction by Ava Olsen (NY Rush #1)

Image
ROOKIE ATTRACTION NY Rush - Book One by Ava Olsen Release Date: September 13, 2026 Review A wonderful slow burn between teammates. Selwin, once outgoing and the life of the team, is a shell of himself after having to flee his team who were not accepting of him coming out. So he’s extremely withdrawn when he arrives in NY to join the Rush.  Afraid to make friends. All except for the Rookie. Having met before, Finn pulls Selwin out of himself and gives him the friendship he so desperately needs. It’s a sweet buildup to lovely romance.   Being the first in the series, we get to meet some pretty awesome characters that we know we’ll get to see again. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Selwin I planned on coming out in the NHL. I didn't plan on having to switch teams to survive it. With the New York Rush, keeping my head down should be safe—until rookie defenseman Finn Baran shows up. Finn is talented, determined, impossible to ignore. Every late-night convers...

REVIEW: Caught Offside by Quinn Ward

Image
CAUGHT OFFSIDE by Quinn Ward Release Date: August 29, 2026 Review Really enjoyable professional multi-sport romance. I enjoyed the element of two different sports. They don’t just have the same problem of schedules and possible trades, but also different seasons.   It highlights the conundrum of how long into a relationship you should start considering it in your major life decisions.   Patrick is cautious off the ice. Reserved. And no matter how much he likes Asher, he’s careful and a little reluctant.  He’s also the kind of person who draws inwards when life turns hard.   Asher is open and kind, even when constantly being under the strain of making it in the shadow of his parents. Even when trying to earn his spot in the big leagues. He’s patient with Patrick (sometimes to patient). But sometimes having to find growth within yourself to make love work, makes it all the more special. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LI...

REVIEW: Yard Sale by EM Lindsey (Legends and Fury #3)

Image
YARD SALE Legends and Fury - Book Three by EM Lindsey Release Date: August 27, 2026 Review Too blind for some, not blind enough for others- what an exhausting world to live in. And no one would blame him for whacking Aravind with a hockey stick for his attitude and terrible take. I’m not sure I accept his reason for how he acted, but he redeems himself when he steps up and steps in for Tiago. Because OMG, his family should be abandoned on a deserted island, with not even a ball to talk to. Somehow, Aravind finds himself,  and some steadiness that allows him to step up for himself and others, and Tiago discover a life where he can lay down some of the wall, because he has someone that loves all of him. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis “Would you rather be trapped in a cabin with your arch enemy, or not be allowed to shower for a hundred days?” Problem number one: My arch enemy is the jackass reporter who keeps making up lies about me. Problem number two: He’s also...

REVIEW: Ethan by Beth Bolden (Hockey Bros #1)

Image
ETHAN Hockey Bros - Book One by Beth Bolden Release Date: August 12, 2026 Review It’s a really good bisexual awakening, with two really likeable men who are both trying to make it into the NHL, while also discovering feelings for one another and trying to figure out how they could possibly be together. Ethan is the youngest Barnes sibling, with two brothers already in the NHL and a sister coaching a hockey team. So the pressure is on, especially as he’s being courted by the same team as the middle brother Charlie. As Hank gets called up to the team, and then back to the AHL, frustration mounting, they also develop deep feelings for each other.  It’s a lot to deal with. But they find their way. I will say, I am of the belief that there can be to much sport in a sport romance. LOL. I generally find it unnecessary.  There was also a lot of time spent on Charlie and Max which felt distracting and repetitive 9rather than setting up for the next book. But in all, it was a rea...
