REVIEW: Stolen by Liv Rancourt (Soulmates: City of Angels #1)

Image
STOLEN Soulmates: City of Angels - Book One by Liv Rancourt Release Date: March 19, 2026 Review Didn’t know what to expect from a fantasy Robin Hood, but I do love a steal from the rich, give to the poor ethos! Stolen, came with a motley crew of supernaturals trying to save not just their neck of the woods, but the whole world from a force that keeps rearing its head. These men are slightly emotionally damaged and bedraggled by life and politics. This definitely draws you in and keeps you around to find out how things will play out. John is centuries old, while Marcus is a mere babe in the grand scheme of things, but both are compelling, and the draw between them is super interesting. Their journey is lovely, and I’m excited to see where the rest of the series leads. The immortal Lord of the Greenwood calls upon his merry men when evil needs to be c...

REVIEW: One Week to Win the Chocolate Maker by Timothy Janovsky

ONE WEEK TO WIN THE CHOCOLATE MAKER by Timothy Janovsky Release Date: January 27, 2026 Review This was a fun premise, but it also held so much warmth, tenderness, and the weight of obligation and legacy. Dario may have been planning to take over the family Chocolate empire, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a lot. Especially after the death of his grandfather, whom he loved a lot. Grief has been a struggle. Now he has to get married. But not just married, his grandfather has an entire scheme, reality show style. Charlie carries the weight of the working class. A family struggling to stay afloat, at risk of losing the family home. Winning the chance to woo a Chocolate billionaire seems like a Hail Mary. What ensues is lovely and moving amongst the chaos of contestants, family, and work obligations. Such a wonderful read. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Dario Cotogna has a problem. Per his late grandfather’s wishes, if Dario’s not married by his thirty-second birthday, his ...

REVIEW: Enter the Ox by Duncan Gaye (The Long Shadow #2)

Image
ENTER THE OX The Long Shadow - Book Two by Duncan Gaye Release Date: June 13, 2025 Review Super intriguing story and writing. Set in the 80s we get a Mafia son who’s away at college and has enjoyed the freedom a little too much, so when his controlling father forces him home, he meets the new bodyguard/chauffer, Bruno, nicknamed the Ox. Bruno feels decades older than he actually is, and he’s a perfect balance to Benny, who constantly wants to have fun and is a little reckless.  Their relationship is clandestine and could end badly if they are found out. And you can empathize with both of them as to why. The writing is unique. I’m not sure how to describe it, but I like it.  And the aspects like the 80s and Bruno having fled his home country really added something to the story. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Part of The Long Shadow Series by Duncan Gaye Benny Cerone has always felt like the odd one out. Sensitive, artistic, and adopted into a powerful Chica...

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I Think They Love You by Julian Winters

Image
I THINK THEY LOVE YOU by Julian Winters Release Date: January 28, 2025 Audio Release Date: January 28, 2025 Review An excellent audiobook by a new to me author and a tried and true narrator = fantastic combo. Narrator Andre Santana has a smooth voice and a talent for contemporary romance. The story itself was wonderful and really covered all the fells.  Touching, steamy, and cute. Fake dating your ex will always grab my attention.  I love second chances and fake dating so it’s a double win for me and these two really grabbed my attention.  They both wormed their way into my heart and my desire to see them make it to the end. Not to mention all the other characters who also popped and provided depth to the story. I will definitely be reading another book by Julian Winters.  Bonus points if he uses Andre Santana again.
