AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I Think They Love You by Julian Winters

I THINK THEY LOVE YOU by Julian Winters Release Date: January 28, 2025 Audio Release Date: January 28, 2025 Review An excellent audiobook by a new to me author and a tried and true narrator = fantastic combo. Narrator Andre Santana has a smooth voice and a talent for contemporary romance. The story itself was wonderful and really covered all the fells.  Touching, steamy, and cute. Fake dating your ex will always grab my attention.  I love second chances and fake dating so it’s a double win for me and these two really grabbed my attention.  They both wormed their way into my heart and my desire to see them make it to the end. Not to mention all the other characters who also popped and provided depth to the story. I will definitely be reading another book by Julian Winters.  Bonus points if he uses Andre Santana again. REVIEW: My Mother's Ridiculous Rules for Dating by Philip William Stover

MY MOTHER’S RIDICULOUS RULES FOR DATING by Philip William Stover Release Date: October 24, 2024 Review I really like the author’s writing style. It’s cheeky and engaging, and the premise of the story is fun and endearing. Sam is likeable, and quite frankly, relatable. He hasn’t reached the milestones he expected to and he has a lot of self-doubts. It makes for a tumultuous time.  Made even crazier by his mother. Doesn’t help that he’s a bit of a doormat. Unfortunately, I wanted to set the mother a drift on a raft in the middle of the ocean.  She was over the top and never once listened to Sam's wants & needs. I would have left the country if she was my mother.  The story had a number of wonderful side characters that brought a richness to the story. REVIEW: Glitterland by Alexis Hall (Spires Universe #1)

GLITTERLAND Spires Universe - Book One by Alexis Hall Re-Release Date: January 17, 2023 Review This book is a lot. In the best way. Alexis has a really unique descriptive writing style that is addictive. But he also writes such flawed characters using humour and quirky situations that they find themselves in. In Glitterland, Ash is almost consumed by his mental health. Until he meets Darian a charmingly ridiculous man that wants Ash for exactly who he is. Not who he was, who he could be. In turn, he just wants to be loved for who he is. It’s a romance of two men, but it’s also a romance with one's own mental health. Learning to love yourself as is, learning to accept yourself. Freeing yourself to live happier.  “So, lemme get this right. We're gonna make a go of it. You and me? Togevver? Even though I'm orange and you're mental?” The depiction of mental health is at times uncomfortable. It’s very real, but also beautiful.  “I'd wasted so much of my life. So many of ...
