AUDIO REVIEW: Delivering Dante by Lucy Lennox (Made Marian #6)

DELIVERING DANTE Made Marian - Book Six by Lucy Lennox Release Date: April 30, 2017 Audio Release Date: June 7, 2017 Narrator: Michael Dean Review Another wonderful addition to a favourite series. It has everything you could want from a Lucy Lennox story - humour, wacky aunts, gorgeous human beings (inside and out), and plenty of beautiful love.  This whole series is built off of found family…a family that keeps growing in such tremendous ways. There are a lot of wild antics but there is also plenty of stirring emotions. Dante’s life before the Marian’s is heartbreaking, and AJ’s involvement as a real-life superhero is beautiful. As is their connection.  I loved Dante learning to own his past, and take control, but I also appreciated the support he took from AJ in the process. It’s going to be really sad when I’ve finished this series. If you're into audiobooks, be sure to check out this one. Michael Dean really seems to get Lucy's writing style and humour. AUDIO REVIEW: Summer Kitchen by EJ Russell (Saving Home #1)

SUMMER KITCHEN Saving Home - Book One by EJ Russell Release Date: April 22, 2024 Audio Release Date: April 22, 2024 Narrator: Greg Boudreaux Review I love a good small-town series. This one has some really interesting characters, a cool town history, and all the ‘we have each other's backs’ vibes you could want. Casey has found himself in Home, Vermont training to be a Michelin level chef before the end of summer so he can take over where is father left off when he died. Except he’s terrible at it, and has a complicated relationship with his father. What isn’t complicated is the draw he feels for Dev, the town manager and owner of the house Casey is living in. Dev carries the legacy of Home’s founder on his shoulders. The town has some unique laws meant to support its people but given the economy of small towns, it’s a struggle. As Dev helps Casey find his passion, Casey helps Dev realize that being responsible doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. A heartwarming community-orient

AUDIO REVIEW: The Daredevil by Duckie Mack (Black Cat Circus #1)

THE DAREDEVIL Black Cat Circus - Book One by Duckie Mack Release Date: May 6, 2023 Audio Release Date: April 15, 2024 Narrator: Zachary Zaba Review Who doesn’t want to believe that the magical world of a circus is really magical?  Giving a safe place and found family for those who don’t always feel wanted or understood elsewhere. And that’s exactly how Drake finds himself a part of Black Cat Circus. The bad boy in need of a safe place. Eli is an adorably awkward guy working a mediocre job with dreams of being a photographer. He plays it safe and quiet. What he needs is a Daredevil to breathe some life into him and help him take chances. They are an adorable pair. I love every scene with Drake pushing Eli to do something out of his comfort zone.  Eli experiencing those moments, the exhilaration, the joy, was wonderful.  I do recommend the audiobook, it’s fun to have these two brought to life by Zachary Zaba. REVIEW: Bloody Valentine by West Greene

Image
BLOODY VALENTINE Valentine Claim - Book One by West Greene Release Date: February 10, 2024 Review Whoa, that took a turn!  This was a dark erotic short between two best friends. "I cannot believe your murderous tendencies are making me hard." It’s an obsessive and possessive love by Finn for his kind-hearted best friend.  Gatlin has struggled to feel like he belongs for a long time. He thought he had finally made it, with a best friend and boyfriend.  But it’s not until Finn unleashes the full force of his desires for Gatlin, that he understands what it's like to be consumed by love. Turns out the sweet guy likes his men a little unhinged. If you like slightly deranged characters who think some light kidnapping is foreplay, than you can’t go wrong with this short.
