Miles comes to town, and things get a whole lot more interesting.  There is a definite pull between Miles and Dylan, but Miles is reluctant. Having moved here for a fresh start, he doesn’t want to cause waves and risk his job. But time spent together, and Dylan learning what he’s running from, brings these two together. And they are all kinds of lovely. And I really enjoy how they work together. I’m really enjoying this sports/shifter series. I love the mix of the two. Selwin, once outgoing and the life of the team, is a shell of himself after having to flee his team who were not accepting of him coming out. So he’s extremely withdrawn when he arrives in NY to join the Rush.  Afraid to make friends. All except for the Rookie. Having met before, Finn pulls Selwin out of himself and gives him the friendship he so desperately needs. It’s a sweet buildup to lovely romance.   Being the first in the series, we get to meet some pretty awesome characters that we know we’ll get to see again.     CAUGHT OFFSIDE by Quinn Ward Release Date: August 29, 2026 Review Really enjoyable professional multi-sport romance. I enjoyed the element of two different sports. They don’t just have the same problem of schedules and possible trades, but also different seasons.   It highlights the conundrum of how long into a relationship you should start considering it in your major life decisions.   Patrick is cautious off the ice. Reserved. And no matter how much he likes Asher, he’s careful and a little reluctant.  He’s also the kind of person who draws inwards when life turns hard.   Asher is open and kind, even when constantly being under the strain of making it in the shadow of his parents. Even when trying to earn his spot in the big leagues. He’s patient with Patrick (sometimes to patient).   ETHAN Hockey Bros - Book One by Beth Bolden Release Date: August 12, 2026 Review It’s a really good bisexual awakening, with two really likeable men who are both trying to make it into the NHL, while also discovering feelings for one another and trying to figure out how they could possibly be together. Ethan is the youngest Barnes sibling, with two brothers already in the NHL and a sister coaching a hockey team. So the pressure is on, especially as he’s being courted by the same team as the middle brother Charlie. As Hank gets called up to the team, and then back to the AHL, frustration mounting, they also develop deep feelings for each other.  It’s a lot to deal with. But they find their way. I will say, I am of the belief that there can be to much sport in a sport romance. LOL.   GAME MISCONDUCT Scoring Chances - Book Six by Brigham Vaughn Release Date: August 7, 2026 Review A classic rival teammates, with one good guy and one chaotic self-centred player. If you love rivals, this will be a good time. I like Leif. Though he got caught up in the rivalry, he’s a calm presence, though is also a little closed off. From everyone. I can see why the opposites attract theory would work for him. I’ll admit, I don’t love Tanner. He’s the kind of guy who takes pleasure in making someone else uncomfortable. Not caring if he’s sharing private information. Hiding behind his chaotic, ADHD nature. He grows on me, but I never love him.  I love that they’re happy and working together to make their world of hockey a little more accepting.
