REVIEW: Game Misconduct by Brigham Vaughn (Scoring Chances #6)

Image
GAME MISCONDUCT Scoring Chances - Book Six by Brigham Vaughn Release Date: August 7, 2026 Review A classic rival teammates, with one good guy and one chaotic self-centred player. If you love rivals, this will be a good time. I like Leif. Though he got caught up in the rivalry, he’s a calm presence, though is also a little closed off. From everyone. I can see why the opposites attract theory would work for him. I’ll admit, I don’t love Tanner. He’s the kind of guy who takes pleasure in making someone else uncomfortable. Not caring if he’s sharing private information. Hiding behind his chaotic, ADHD nature. He grows on me, but I never love him.  I love that they’re happy and working together to make their world of hockey a little more accepting. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis The last thing Tanner Clayton needs is to fall in love with his rival ... He loves playing defense for the Boston Harriers, hooking up with anyone he wants to, and hanging out with the boys....

REVIEW: Grind by KM Neuhold (Gymbos #3)

Image
GRIND Gymbos - Book Three by KM Neuhold Release Date: July 3, 2026 Review I think this is my favourite pairing in the series.  I loved friendship and exploration, leading an injured hockey player to find his happiness and the strength to own his truth. Callan is a good guy. Strong, solid, and has no angst about fooling around with a straight guy. Always supportive of Diego discovering himself and deciding when he comes out. They are fun to watch, and pretty sweet in their bro dudeness! Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Hockey star Diego Ferguson says he knows about the grind, but he’s about to learn that his new personal trainer, Callan, gives the word a whole new meaning. Everyone in Chicago has been following the news about Diego's injury and the last season spent on the bench. It doesn’t hurt that he's got a major sexy brood going on in every picture I see of him these days. The last place I expected him to show up was Sweat. But he's looking for a personal ...

REVIEW: Home Ice by Saxon James

HOME ICE by Saxon James Release Date: June 25, 2026 Review Such a great story! Best friends, second-chance, turned lovers, with a side of surprise, you have a kid! I love a best friend's second chance story, the hurt, forgiveness, learning to love again. And this has it in spades. All because Jensen has come home after discovering he has a teenage son.  The awkwardness, the rollercoaster of emotions, and watching his son come around to accepting Jensen.  Loved it. And Tai, learning to ask for more, seek out happiness…so satisfying. The way these two build a relationship and life is exactly what I’m looking for in a romance. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis TAI Ten years ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life. When Hawke left for the NHL and my hockey dreams went up in smoke, I ghosted my best and longest friend. It made sense at the time, but there hasn’t been a day where I haven’t missed him. So when we run into each other again, and his only response i...

REVIEW: Football AU by Essie Sloane (Because Canon Sucks Series)

Image
FOOTBALL AU Because Canon Sucks Series by Essie Sloane Release Date: June 24, 2026 Review Milo and Ronan, in their football realm, are an entertaining pairing.  Grumpy/Sunshine teammates get off to a rocky start. Ronan is traded to a new team, and his teammate, tour guide, and neighbour is one very energetic and talkative Milo. Ronan is as reluctant as they come. A quiet guy who prefers his own company is not thrilled by Milo’s incessant talking (I don’t blame him). But there is also an attraction. But finally tension leads to fun, leads to, I can’t live without him. I really enjoyed the story and characters. But I’m still not a fan of the fan fic note element, and to be honest, it annoys me more and more with each book. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis The last thing Rowan Rangecroft expected two weeks before the start of the ALF season was to be traded to the Tucson Scorpions, but he knows the life of a professional football player comes with risks like this. T...

REVIEW: Friction by KC Wells (Cold Blades #1)

Image
FRICTION Cold Blades - Book One by KC Wells Release Date: June 23, 2026 Review Wow! This is an incredible romance that delves into the world Ice Skating Federations, Nation politics, and embracing yourself. The length of the book seemed a little daunting at the beginning, but this story pulled me right in, and I never once questioned the length. Olympic athletes from very different countries, and very different coaching. They have a wonderful connection, and that is what helps them find the strength to embrace themselves, their worth, and skill. I love the political piece. Both in a broad sense, but also how it affects on an individual level. It adds such a wonderfully interesting aspect to the romance. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Luka was built for control. He chose the one thing that would destroy it. Luka Davorin On the ice, I know exactly who I am. Every movement has a purpose. Every risk is measured. Every mistake carries a price. Off the ice is different. T...

THUNDERSTRUCK Toronto Thunder - Book Four by Beth Bolden Release Date: June 22, 2026 Review Such a great step-brother's romance, unexpectedly set in the world of American Football.  Step-brothers and now teammates, Trevor and Lane haven’t been close. But they are also surrounded by an incredible team/family that is supportive, caring, and funny. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis When Lane realizes he’s attracted to his straight stepbro, he’s absolutely thunderstruck . . .
