The hurt, guilt, anger, and love are so palpable, and the story is so tragic. One moment in time - carried so much emotion for the next 13 years. And now they must contend with their feelings and the decisions they made in the past, all under the threat of Reid’s family looking to wage war. It’s not an easy story. Not an easy journey. But damn it was so worth everything they went through to get to such an incredible and loving ending. I adore Evan - he’s such a great guy who proves that one mistake doesn’t change that. But he never shies away from that fateful decision. And Reid…I get him. His journey from anger to forgiveness was special. And August…lovely August. He’s the ultimate people pleaser. Unable to put his happiness above that of others. Always reliable and steady. It’s an emotional story with plenty of light-hearted moments as well. They both have their baggage, which an incident leading forced proximity forces out into the open. Allowing the two step-brothers to finally understand each other better.  Their journey is sweet, but a little rocky. But with each of them balancing the other out, they are something beautiful.
