REVIEW: Not Dead Yet by Jenn Burke (Not Dead Yet #3)

Image
NOT DEAD YET Not Dead Yet - Book One by Jenn Burke Release Date: February 4, 2019 Review I love the detective/supernatural combo in a romance book so much! I mean, I love detective, suspense-type romances. Period. But the added supernatural component makes it all the more intriguing. Wes is not dead. Alive but not alive. Dead but not dead. It puts him in a weird, immortal life that keeps him from being able to create ties to people. Case in point, he had tried with Hudson, but between his ‘affliction’ and Hudson being in a bad place at the time, they fell apart. But now their lives are crossing paths over a murder, and it seems prudent to work together. Blending Hudson’s abilities as a detective and Wes’ unique skill set, they have a chance of getting to the bottom of the issue. I do recommend the audiobook.  Greg Boudreaux is a really good narrator, and I find fantasy/supernatural stories are often more fun in audio. REVIEW: His First Surrender by Max Walker (Stonewall Investigations Miami #3)

HIS FIRST SURRENDER Stonewall Investigations Miami - Book Three by Max Walker Release Date: February 23, 2020 Audio Release Date: July 13, 2021 Review Another enjoyable edition to the Stonewall Investigations world. Not my favourite of the cases, but I loved Rocky and Sam’s romance. It was cute and tentative, which blossomed into something strong and beautiful. It started in the worst way.  Sam is a suspect in Rocky’s latest case. Not the best of starts, and as it becomes clear Sam is not responsible, and in fact, possibly in danger, these two grow closer. Rocky is so kind and respectful of Sam, but what I really loved was him finding someone to let in again. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis SAM CLARK Family, friends, and video games. The three things that define my life. When a fourth variable gets added in the form of a smoldering detective named Rocky Hudson, suddenly everything changes. Life isn’t as simple anymore, and it begins to start feeling like a new ...

REVIEW: Cut to the Feeling by AJ Truman & MA Wardell (Big Boys Small Spaces #2)

Image
CUT TO THE FEELING Big Boys Small Spaces - Book Two by AJ Truman & MA Wardell Release Date: September 30, 2025 Review AJ and MA have created something special. In a small apartment in New York City, two men (and a dog) find love in the most unexpected way. Bryce is an optimistic dreamer, but even his sunny disposition is tested when his boyfriend cowardly dumps and sublets the apartment he lives in.  Emmerson is taking a risk to follow his dream job, but he’s a little awkward and lacks passion for himself. What he’s definitely not prepared for is the man and dog, who are currently in his apartment. A man who breathes fresh life into him. This is a sweet and funny rom-com where circumstances bring together two very different men who could both benefit from someone believing in them. And if you like audiobooks, Greg Boudreaux and Kevin Earlywine give a stellar performance, bringing the personalities and story to life. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis For Bryce ...

SINK OR SWIM Shore Leave - Book Two by Annabeth Albert Release Date: February 22, 2022 Audio Release Date: February 22, 2022 Narrator: Greg Boudreaux & Joel Leslie Review Sometimes one score leads to an even bigger one. Getting to know Calder as a whole person was pretty great because he was so much more than we saw in book one. And single parent, Felix, raising his two nieces, is the perfect match for him. Calder is forced to think about more than just the moment and some fun. And as they navigate their budding feelings, his career, and the girls, they develop something strong and deep.  It was a wonderful story, and also a really enjoyable audiobook.  Greg Boudreaux and Joel Leslie do a great job delivering a compelling story. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis A meet-cute leads to more than they expected in this military-hero romance from award-winning author Annabeth Albert Navy chief Calder Euler loves to win big.
