REVIEW: Burning Love by Ashley James (Sweet Briar #1)

Image
BURNING LOVE Sweet Briar - Book One by Ashley James Release Date: August 27, 2026 Review Such a beautiful tale that had me tearing up more than a few times.  One of those epic, stories that spans many years, uncovers years of history, tragedy, and a second chance.   To say Chesney and Jasper have a complicated past is an understatement. And complicated relationships with their families, it’s history, and it’s future. So much pain, and loss, and hurt.   But being forced together, forced to reckon with the past, and their feelings that have never really gone away made for an amazing story.   Truly a wonderful story. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis One year. Two ranches. A secret neither of them can outrun.   Chesney Jennings is the last person Jasper Smith ever expected to see back in Sweet Briar, Wyoming. So when Jasper’s grandfather dies and leaves half of Wind River Ranch to hi...

REVIEW: Harvest Heat by Silvia Violet (Frostwick Harbor #1)

HARVEST HEAT Frostwick Harbor - Book One by Silvia Violet Release Date: August 20, 2026 Review I love a misunderstood guy. And Rhys is definitely misunderstood by many. Though thankfully, he also has a crew of people who totally get him and have his back. Rhys is the hometown native, so he knows firsthand what life is like in a small town, and its gossip mill. Caleb is a transplant who has opened a ‘rival’ coffee shop. He’s a sunshiny man who loves sweet, flavourful coffee concoctions. And he’s completely intrigued by Rhys and his coffee purest shop. The attraction is evident, and over time they connect secretly.  Both romantically and to create a drink for the upcoming festival. Rhys is completely wrapped up in the idea of keeping everything between them secret. This causes some push and pull between them. It’s a fun story, with some entertaining side characters and lots of small-town charm. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Rhys likes his life controlled, quiet,...

REVIEW: Heartsmashed by Brooke Blaine (Hate to Love You #2)

HEARTSMASHED Hate to Love You - Book Two by Brooke Blaine Release Date: June 11, 2026 Review Okay, sure, Beckett pretends to be someone else, which is wrong, but also….swoon!! Cuz, darn it, he just wanted to make things better for Sawyer. Sawyer, who was reeling from a breakup and would have to see his ex on the arm of another for an entire week. But his fake boyfriend is more real than his ex ever was; the connection between them cannot be denied. Perhaps a little lie isn’t so bad after all. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis He hired a fake boyfriend for the weekend. The man who showed up wasn’t the escort. Sawyer Montgomery spends his nights broadcasting heartbreak on his prime-time radio show—spinning sad songs, giving terrible love advice, and pretending he’s totally over the ex who shattered his heart. (Spoiler: he’s not.) But when he needs a fake boyfriend to survive a weeklong family celebration with that very ex, hiring an escort seems like the perfect solution...

REVIEW: Texas Pride by Kindle Alexander (Texas Pride #1)

TEXAS PRIDE Texas Pride - Book One by Kindle Alexander Release Date: March 15, 2013 Review Hollywood heartthrob turned rancher! And he hasn’t exactly made friends with the neighbour rancher, who’s thoroughly unimpressed by his money and ranch hands, aka Bodyguards. The story was a lot of fun, and they are definitely hot together. And I love a story that involves coming out and owning your sexual orientation, especially in a rural area.  Kitt is kind, hardworking, and loyal. You totally root for him to find love and to be free. I liked Austin, he’s a bit of a golden retriever, but he also never respects boundaries, lies (by omission) numerous times, and makes decisions for Kitt without talking to him. So, I think I like who he could be, more than who he is. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis In recognition of current economic challenges, all Kindle Alexander titles have been reduced in price and will remain so for the foreseeable future Description: When two-time Ac...

REVIEW: Summit by Jillian D Wray (Ricochet Ridge #3)

Image
SUMMIT Ricochet Ridge - Book Four by Jillian D Wray Release Date: May 28, 2026 Review The final story in the Richochet Ridge series was the darkest for sure. I loved the couple together; they are both lovely men, and it was definitely an interesting predicament; one who lies because he struggles to trust and the other who struggles to trust someone who lies.  Zeke has lived one hell of a tough life and can’t seem to catch a break.  Despite it all, he’s a sweet soul.   Christian, on the other hand, has lived a life of privilege and wealth, but that means he’s never really experienced a life of his own or been sure that his friends are his friends. But in order to carve out a future, they have to deal with an abusive to-be-ex boyfriend and the publicity of being wealthy and interesting to the media. I did struggle with parts of this story.  There is a lot of on-page domestic and sexual violence, which I’m not entirely sure was necessary for the story. ...
