AUDIO REVIEW: Dirty Steal by KD Casey & Lauren Blakely

DIRTY STEAL Dirty Players - Book Two by KD Casey & Lauren Blakely Release Date: September 28, 2022 Audio Release Date: September 28, 2022 Narrators: Evan Parker & JF Harding Review An enjoyable baseball romance between players.  I love stories that start with hooking up and then discovering that your lives are about to intersect. These two are hot, and they have a steamy journey to get to their happy ending. I can’t imagine being a sports player, the competition, knowing you can get traded, and having a short age span for it. It makes player romances fun and tension-filled. If you like audiobooks, Evan Parker & JF Harding are wonderful, and pair well with KD & Lauren’s writing. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis One bed, two players, and another chance in this steamy standalone sports romance… After how this season has gone so far — don’t ask — the last thing I need is a distraction. Like, say, my spring training one-night stand showing up in my dug...

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Home Work by Kaje Harper & Narrated by JF Harding (Life Lessons #3)

Home Work Life Lessons - Book Three by Kaje Harper Narrated by JF Harding Audio Release Date: September 6, 2022 Review Home Work is book three in the four-book series, Life Lessons, which follows Mac and Tony through a real and often gritty relationship. Mac’s a homicide detective, he’s now out, but it’s still not easy. His fellow cops are not extremely welcoming of his admission to being gay. Tony is happy to finally have his man and able to be honest about their relationship.  Not only that but now they have their two kids and an apartment. Too bad Mac is still a workaholic, and both kids are still struggling with trauma and change.  They love each other to death, but real life is nothing like a romance novel.  If you like your couple to have to work for their HEA, if you want it to feel real…this is the series for you.  Life sometimes provides blows. You have to work to stay connected. Work to keep the love alive.  Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK S...

REVIEW: Breaking Cover by Kaje Harper, Narrated by JF Harding

Image
Review: Breaking cover is book 2 in the serial of Mac and Tony. It’s another emotional story with a lot of tension around Mac being in the closet. He’s a detective in an openly homophobic precinct. His child is being raised by an uber-religious aunt. The world is a scary place to come out in. And to be honest, Tony is a jerk in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I understand it’s frustrating not being open with their relationship, I feel that. But he is unforgiving and cruel at times. I loved him in the first book, he was kind and understanding. Obviously, there are highs and lows with these two, and with a killer on the loose, and two children to worry about, emotions are high, so they aren’t always at their best. I guess I’m a little protective of Mac. At this point, I’m fully invested in their story, and I need the next 2 books because I need more than a HFN, I need their HEA! This works well as an audiobook. JF Harding is a really good narrator and lends well to the story and chara...

REVIEW: Life Lessons by Kaje Harper

Image
Review: My first foray into Kaje Harper’s work. And I very much enjoyed it. A crime thriller that brings together two men. The cop investigating the murder, and the teacher who finds himself caught up in the killer's web. The hunt is on. This will keep you engaged the whole way through, both to see whodunnit and hoping that Mac and Tony will make a go of it. Narrator JF Harding definitely helped make this a great read/listen. They do a great job at capturing the dark, tense tone of the thriller, but also the light and sweet moments these two share. I loved the pace, and the writing, and though I like both characters, Mac is my one. I love a tortured soul. Closeted, in a job not very welcoming to gay men, with familial responsibilities that compound his need to stay closeted. Just trying to hold everything together. It makes the day that they finally break free, and choose happiness that much better! Hopefully, that day will come for him… Stars: 4 🕮 Life Lessons by Kaje Harper 📚 A...
