Review

Finally read my first Gregory Ashe book after adding many of his books to my TBR!  And I am definitely a fan.


This is a cozy mystery that would be at home with all the british murder mysteries i watch.  Full of quirky characters, fun and wild scenarios, and of course a good murder or two.


Dash crosses the country for a job, to find himself having to defend himself from a murder charge. With plenty of chaos and twists and turns to entertain.


I’m absolutely here for the rest of the series.

Synopsis

When Dashiell Dawson Dane moves across the country to a small seaside town called Hastings Rock, he has one goal: get away from his ex. Okay, two goals - because he wouldn't mind a little help from his new boss, celebrity mystery author Vivienne Carver. About Gregory Ashe

I'm a long-time Midwesterner. I've lived in Chicago, Bloomington (IN), and Saint Louis, my current home. Aside from reading and writing (which take up a lot of my time), I'm an educator.

While I enjoy reading across many genres, my two main loves are mystery and speculative fiction. I used to keep a list of favorite books, but it changes so frequently that I've given up. I'm always looking for recommendations, though, so please drop me a line if you have something in mind!

My big goal right now is one day to be responsible enough to get a dog.

Fenton Release Date: August 5, 2025 Review I wish there were more mystery romances out there.  I love the mystery-solving, both the entertainment value of the cases, but also as a plot point to a developing relationship. And Declan and Charlie are a dynamic duo. They have great banter, but are also caring people. Book three, and Declan and Charlie are still finding their way as boyfriends and colleagues, but it’s clear they could be amazing. And now Charlie is learning to become a detective, too. They each take on a case, but before long, they find their cases connecting. Which is perfect, because they do their best work together. But he doesn’t stand a chance with Tallus. That guy is a force of nature. This pair is amusing. Tallus talks so much he forgets to listen, and Diem struggles to speak with anything other than single words. And you might wonder why Tallus shows Diem any interest, the man has more problems than most, but you can see what he sees. A man deserving of love and care. Their not-partnership solving cases is beyond chaotic and wild. Especially when it involves possible mind control. Okay probably not mind control. Maybe mind control-ish. Definitely something hinky. Poor Diem - he had no idea how much Tallus would upend his life, but I don’t think he really minds in the end! The Audiobook performed by Nick J. Russo really brings these two to life.
