REVIEW: The Christmas Knife by Jackie North

Image
THE CHRISTMAS KNIFE by Jackie North Release Date: December 21, 2018 Review This was a really neat Christmas story, one I could envision watching on TV.  A knife, a family heirloom, gets stolen, something that was supposed to bridge a gap of regret and a family break for Clayton. In the process, it brings him to Kyle, a sweet IT guy who was excited to be hosting his friends for Christmas.  Instead, a storm snows them in together for Christmas. The perfect host and the perfect guest. ;) They are pretty cute together, and their romance is full of Christmas magic. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis A stolen Christmas present brings together two strangers who long for hearth and home at the holidays. It’s mere days before Christmas when the gift Clayton intends to give to his nephew, an antique Bowie knife and hand-beaded sheath, is stolen. Clayton must track them down before Christmas morning. A lost & found ad is posted for the Christmas knife’s safe re...

REVIEW: The Cowboy and the Hacker by Jackie North (Farthingdale Valley #5)

THE COWBOY AND THE HACKER Farthingdale Valley - Book Five by Jackie North Release Date: November 26, 2024 Review Zeke can calm a skittish horse, and it turns out a skittish man too. Cal’s story is tragic and you can understand why he’s jumpy and hard to trust, but in Zeke’s presence he’s in safe hands. It’s sweet to watch them work through their pasts and find a way forward together that includes acceptance and trust.  They are beautiful together and they have a wonderful happy ever after.  The whole series is amazing, I love all these people finding second chances, along with kindness, understanding and love. One of my favourite scenes in every book is when the parolee gets to go get their boots and hat. It never fails to make me smile. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Will you go with me? Yes, to the ends of the earth and back again. Cal Cal made a coding mistake that got him arrested and far away from Preston, his horrible boyfriend. After over a year in ...

REVIEW: The Cowboy and The Dealer by Jackie North (Fathingdale Valley #4)

Image
THE COWBOY AND THE DEALER Fathingdale Valley - Book Four by Jackie North Release Date: Oct 11, 2024 Review I love this second chance series. Hurt/comfort at its finest, set in a gorgeous valley that like its characters is both rugged and beautiful. There’s a delicious push and pull between Bede, an ex-drug dealer unsure if wants to be there and Galen, the cowboy who wants nothing to do with criminals. But they are both proven wrong in their assumptions and instead find fulfillment in the work and friendship between them. Galen finally finds some peace and joy since his father died, as well as someone willing to share his burdens. Bede finds a home and love he didn’t think possible. There are lots of great moments between the two, from funny to intense to tender, and they were all perfect. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis The valley works its magic, even on the most broken of hearts. Galen Parnell is the type of guy who would stop at a four-way intersection, even at mi...

REVIEW: The Cowboy and the Outcast by Jackie North (Farthingdale Valley #3)

Image
THE COWBOY AND THE OUTCAST Farthingdale Valley - Book Three by Jackie North Release Date: September 29, 2023 Review Every time, Jackie gives us a character study of human nature, love and finding healing. It’s a slow and steady romance between two men who in their own way don’t feel they belong. Until they find one another. Kell, the young parolee lost his family when he came out, and his journey on his own is what led him to getting 90 days for trespassing. It was a huge change from the middle-class upbringing that he had. Marston on the other hand has always lived his life alone, growing up in the system. He’s never really had anyone in his corner. So when he starts working at Farthingdale Ranch he keeps to himself and struggles to believe his good fortune will last. I’m so glad they both found someone to protect and care for their hearts. Their journeys were emotional but Farthingdale does its magic. Set in the gorgeous countryside, with plenty of fresh air and lots of good fo...
