REVIEW: Paper Roses by Lily Morton (Confetti Hitched #3)

PAPER ROSES Confetti Hitched - Book Three by Lily Morton Release Date: February 9, 2025 Review Lily Morton is such an incredible author.  Their humour is witty and endearing and her characters always contain larger-than-life traits while also capturing the simple characteristics that make them human and real. I love a man who gets a second chance at love.  Jed, owner of Confetti Hitched, was widowed, and has been living in the shadow of that loss ever since. He’s warm and caring but also a little closed off. Artie is sweet and kind, and despite his crappy upbringing, he hasn’t lost his shine. And he’s been in love with his boss for a while. So when Jed agrees to fake marry Artie, it’s no doubt it’ll be a wild ride full of emotional struggles, connections, and some flaming heat. The lust is fast, but their love is a beautiful slow burn. They are an incredible couple full of warmth and tenderness.  Their story also contains some wonderful cameos, hilarious hijinks an...

Everything about the man aggravated him—his perfect hair and body, his confident arrogance, and the way he looked straight through Bee.  Which is why it’s such an unpleasant shock to find that he’ll be sharing space with him while on a Christmas holiday with friends in Scotland. However, as the days fly by and snowy Edinburgh begins to work its magic on him, Bee discovers that sometimes first impressions can be very misleading. Tom is kind and funny, and somehow, r...

AUDIO REVIEW: The Player by Lily Morton

THE PLAYER by Lily Morton Release Date: November 18, 2024 Audio Release Date: November 14, 2024 Review Con and Frankie are such a lot of fun, as is their story.  Between their mutual pinning, some awkward misunderstandings, and some really great side characters (including a crime-obsessed parrot), this is a thoroughly enjoyable story. Frankie is widowed by Con’s best friend. But even if he hadn’t died, it’s inevitable that these two would have found their way to each other. They’re perfect for one another. Best friends and lovers. Set in a quaint village with open garden days, meddling neighbours - really, the whole shebang. It’s exactly what I love about Lily’s writing.   Not to mention that the narration is done by Joel Leslie, who always delivers a top-notch performance.  It’s like Lily and He are made for each other. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Frankie Bishop had only been married for a few months when he became a widower, leaving him with...

REVIEW: Something Borrowed by Lily Morton (Confetti Hitched #2)

SOMETHING BORROWED Confetti Hitched - Book Two by Lily Morton Release Date: July 22, 2024 Review I feel like I’ve won the lottery every time Lily publishes a new book! Their brand of humour and swoon make me squee! And these two loveable idiots are perfect. Seriously, is there anything better than two best friends who are mutually pinning but unable to get past their own insecurities or worries to find the love staring them in the face?!?!?!? Stan is an absolute beauty. Full of snark and love, he’s such a delight. He’s in love with relationship-adverse Rafferty, which leads him to try to get over him with a downright douchey Bennett. I would gladly knee that guy in the balls! Rafferty is a delight. A wild mess, but a delight nonetheless.  He’s an amazing best friend, and a fantastic boyfriend (even if he doesn’t realize it). I’d say it was a miracle he turned out to be a wonderful human being given his so-called parents, but he was lucky to have Stan’s family who gave him ju...
