REVIEW: Sweet Like Whiskey by Emmy Sanders (The Darling Brothers #1)

SWEET LIKE WHISKEY The Darling Brothers - Book One by Emmy Sanders Release Date: October 24, 2024 Review First, we should talk about how incredible this cover is. Like I just can’t stop staring at it. I adore Emmy and her cowboys, and once you get over the fact that every book can’t be about Wyatt (Fool Hearts), you learn to love the others! And the Darling brothers are going to be amazing. Jackson is my kryptonite, grumpy, stubborn cowboy. And Ash coming along and healing our boy's heart was something special. Ash, in his own right, is also pretty wonderful, patient and loving. You can’t help but love him too. The story is beautiful and compelling, and you want to live in it forever.  Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis The only thing worse than letting him in is the thought of letting him go. Jackson If there’s one thing I don’t need upsetting my quiet and comfortable routine in the small town of Darling, Montana, it’s newcomer Ash Alcott crash landing on my famil...

REVIEW: Felix by Emmy Sanders (Elite 8 Studios #6)

FELIX Elite 8 Studios - Book Six by Emmy Sanders Release Date: July 18, 2024 Review Be still my beating heart, how I want to love and protect Emil for all of time to come. I am a sucker for someone who doesn’t feel seen by the people around them (projecting? probably!). Nothing makes me melt more. A Christian is perfect for him because he sees him completely. But it’s entirely natural. He doesn’t have to try on Emil’s behalf. He loves everything about the man. I’m also a fan of Emil talking nerdy! Christian himself is also wonderful. He’s an absolute sweetheart, always so thoughtful and caring. He just brings such joy and beauty to the world. It’s a fun and sexy story. Brought together by voyeurism/exhibitionism and chance but connected by so much more. I really enjoyed Emmy’s exploration of Emil’s need for exhibitionism.  It had depth and understanding and brought a lot to the story. I hope these crab daddies have a beautiful life together. REVIEW: Teddy by Emmy Sanders (Elite 8 Studios #5)

Image
TEDDY Elite 8 Studios - Book Five by Emmy Sanders Release Date: April 25, 2024 Review A little bit of kinky and a whole lot of tenderness. I love it when authors have different styles of series or books.  Emmy first came onto the scene with a gorgeous, emotional, and angsty series, but then also brought us the Elite 8 Studio series. Written with the same quality but lighter and more playful.  It’s a great balance. ‘Teddy’ is all about found family and creating a life that feels safe and warm and accepting. Teddy, the man, is such an easygoing and thoughtful guy. He’s a total Daddy. Even if he’s tried to erect some walls after a betrayal he endured. Something about Kipp draws him in, but he fights it, until one night when he wakes up married to that very man. Kipp is kind of an adorable hot mess. A total people-pleaser. You can see why Teddy wants to look after him.  There’s a wonderful progression to this story, plenty of humour, and a lot of exploration. Also, wit...

REVIEW: To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders

TO CATCH A FIREFLY by Emmy Sanders Release Date: February 15, 2024 Review This was one of the best stories I’ve read. It’s one of those epic stories that is breathtaking and will stay with you for a long time. It was utterly gorgeous—tender and heartbreaking, and mesmerizing. It will tear you apart, but still feel like a warm hug. Ellis is such an amazing character. I’ve never met anyone who could say so much with so few words. And the way he just quietly went about loving Lucky in such a perfect way, even though he couldn’t tell him. Wouldn’t tell him for fear of trapping him. And Lucky…I loved his journey. A boy who thought he wanted nothing more than to leave their small town and its corn fields to see the world, ended up discovering that his home and heart were still there. It’s not just the characters that make the story, it’s Emmy’s writing. The way she unravels it. It’s the way she so beautifully describes the environment. You feel like you could smell and taste it. This i...

REVIEW: Himbo by Emmy Sanders (Elite 8 Studios #4)

Image
HIMBO Elite 8 Studios - Book Four by Emmy Sanders Release Date: November 30, 2023 Review This was a really sweet and comforting story. I love it when a story is based around the idea of being seen for who you really are. It’s a beautiful thing that always tugs at my heart. And these two both share that.  Cas who works at Elite 8 Studios as Himbo is often viewed as being flighty and not very smart. Especially in the wealthy business world that his family resides in. But in fact he’s all kinds of smart, just not in the ways the business world appreciates. He’s kind, caring, and hella compassionate. He’s also driven to help others. And he’ll steal your heart that same way he stole Jason’s. Jason is absolutely adorable in his stammering ways when he first meets Cas. He’s also demisexual which makes him a bit apprehensive dating thanks to previous idiots who weren’t willing to care about anything more than getting off. But oh boy, when he gains confidence and starts to trust and ...
