This fantasy world held a perfect mix of detailed world-building without being so complicated that I get lost. Pel and Tor don’t take an immediate liking to the other. Tor is a high prince hiding from his brother. Likeable by the masses but still a privileged guy. And though Pel is a Prince as well, he is of lower status, within the realm, and within his family. They meet in a flurry of snark, and that doesn’t end anytime soon.  It’s a slow burn, and this is only the first book in their story, but they are beginning to find that they see the other for who they are, and value them for it, which is everything they both need.
