REVIEW: The Revenge Mishap by Jax Calder (The Revenge Club #2)

Image
THE REVENGE MISHAP The Revenge Club - Book Two by Jax Calder Release Date: May 8, 2026 Review I know I say this every time, but Jax’s ability to write dialogue and banter is one of the tops! It’s such a ridiculous set up, that it’s absolutely perfect.  A pirate cafe, maple syrup as a weapon and a tech billionaire is owning a unicorn onesie like it’s a matter of life or death! Seriously, Leo may be here because of guilt, but it definitely feels like this is exactly what he needed. And Archie isn’t just keeping the secret that he knows what really happened on that fateful pirate ship. And it was so unexpected from the child entertainer/dog walker, like a secret alter ego. For two intelligent men, they make some dumb decisions, but oh man, their ending will make you smile. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Rule #2 of Revenge Club: Don’t fall for your target’s brother. LEO I'm Leo Brennan. Tech consultant. Negotiator of billion-dollar deals. Master of the corporate de...

REVIEW: It Started with a Text by Jax Calder (Queer Ways to Fall in Love #2)

Image
IT STARTED WITH A TEXT Queer Ways to Fall in Love - Book Two by Jax Calder Release Date: March 19, 2026 Review Oh my gosh - their text exchanges are hilarious.  Love how they capture the ridiculousness people often get up to. The things that build connections. And the connection that Anthony and Nick build is delightful. Even when one of them doesn’t believe the other is who they say they are! Loving this Queer Ways to Fall in Love series. It brings great joy. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis What if your catfish turned out to be the catch of a lifetime? Nick: Okay, so making a viral video mocking my celebrity crush’s pretentious apartment tour isn’t exactly a strategy for finding love. But when some random guy slides into my DMs claiming to be Anthony Devine—Grammy Award-winning pop star, LGBTQ+ icon, and owner of cheekbones that should be illegal—I assume he's a forty-five-year-old catfish living in his mom's basement. However, we start chatting, and it’s the m...

REVIEW: Moderating Love by Jax Calder (Queer Ways to Fall in Love #1)

Image
MODERATING LOVE Queer Ways to Fall in Love - Book One by Jax Calder Release Date: March 4, 2026 Review Gah, Jax Calder is incredible at writing a novella. Her brand of humour and talent at writing conversation and banter make the story come alive and keeps you engrossed in the story, but it also makes it feel fulsome even if it’s short. The storyline is delightful perfection. The cynic and the romantic build a kind of mutual respect and admiration moderating a forum online together. Until one day the online and real world collide in pure, unadulterated, sunshiny, romantic love. Honestly, I could read this over and over. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I've spent two years defending true love against the internet's biggest cynic. For two years, I've been moderating QueerWaystoFallinLove, a forum where people share their romantic meet-cutes. And for two years, TruthGuardian has been the thorn in my optimistic side—debunking every sweet story with spreadsheets, ...

REVIEW: Colliding Hearts by Jax Calder (Redemption Rainbow #3)

Image
COLLIDING HEARTS Rainbow Redemption - Book Three by Jax Calder Release Date: December 11, 2025 Review Jax is well known for their twists and turns and surprises, especially this series, and in each and every one of the books it’s emotional AF, and this story is no different. And even if you guess what it might be, it still hits hard, because by then you are completely and utterly invested in Jared and Felix. You’ve carried the fear, pain, and loss with Felix, and you know that kind of man Jared is. Collding Hearts is heartbreaking, and warm, and sweet - really all the things you want out of a story that will keep you glued to the page and make you want to read it again immediately. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis One voice kept me alive in the darkness. One Halloween night changed everything. One secret threatens to destroy it all. When my car plunges into a ravine, a stranger's chocolate-cake voice becomes my lifeline in the endless dark. But after I’m rescued, the ...

REVIEW: Feeding the Grump by Jax Calder

Image
FEEDING THE GRUMP by Jax Calder Release Date: September 18, 2025 Review Oh, oblivious, grumpy farmer! I love their neighbourly ‘food war’ they were having in between bickering. It’s absolutely adorable. David bringing Benji crops, despite how much he irritates him, finally realizing the relationship they’ve been building, and then actually starts courting him. Gah! I love Jax’s brand of humour and romance, and this short story is such a fun one. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I’m fairly sure that when I’m on my deathbed, I’ll still be cursing Benji Gange’s name. My neighbor paints his gate purple. His experiments with organic farming drift onto my land. He feeds me casseroles while we argue about everything from water rights to rugby selections. For five years, I’ve told myself he’s the worst thing to happen to farming since foot rot. Then my orphan lamb escapes, and we end up tangled in a hedge together (don’t ask), spying on something that turns my whole world ups...
