REVIEW: Finn by Ashley James (The Moore Men #1)

FINN  The Moore Men - Book One by Ashley James Release Date: March 6, 2025 Review I love Ashley’s writing style, her depth of character, and the settings are always wonderful.  And I’m super intrigued to learn more about the rest of the Moore men. I struggled with this one, though, I expected it to be awkward, the whole ‘girlfriends brother’ thing, but I wasn’t prepared for actual cheating. I almost didn’t continue reading, as that’s generally a hardline for me, and it made it hard for me to really get into the story. Ultimately I really like Finn and his family. They are warm men who care deeply, for each other and for their ranch and its history. Ash is lovely with Finn’s son Tucker, for which you can’t help but love him, and he’s wonderful for Finn, opening him up and making him smile, but he’s also a little toxic. A solid story overall if you are okay with how their story started. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Falling for my girlfriend’s twin brother ...

COVER REVEAL: Finn by Ashley James

FINN  Ashley James Release Date: March 6  Meet Ashley James: Ashley James is a romance author who enjoys writing (and reading) LGBTQIA+ books. She is from Washington State—and no, not Seattle—and currently resides in South Carolina with her two kids and hairless kitties, Goose, Maverick, and Houston. Ashley is introverted and slightly (okay, majorly) awkward. She refuses to make this section sound like a tacky dating app profile, so she won't be telling you how much she enjoys music, how she thoroughly enjoys dancing and singing in her kitchen, despite not being able to carry a tune, and she won't be telling you about her love of toxic and broken fictional men. Connect with Ashley James: https://authorashleyjames.com/links/   Blurb: Falling for my girlfriend’s twin brother wasn’t what I had in mind when I hired him to be my son’s nanny. Working on my family’s cattle ranch, the hours are long, and sometimes unpredictable, so when my regular nanny quits, leaving me i...

REVIEW: The History Between Us by Ashley James (Copper Lake #4)

Image
THE HISTORY BETWEEN US  Copper Lake - Book Four by Ashley James Release Date: August 30, 2024 Review Ashley James is a talented writer and can make you feel all the emotions right from the first page. And this forbidden dad’s best friend age-gap romance does just that. The kind of story that keeps you guessing about how they’ll possibly find their way to each other. It took me a moment to warm up to Colt, he’s a bit immature and brash, and I don’t love it when someone enjoys making someone else uncomfortable. Even if it’s because of some intense chemistry. But of course, you love him anyway, and you especially love him with William. They really are a wonderful couple. I’m not sure I’m emotionally ready for the next book, I just know it’s going to make me cry, but I’m here for it. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis There are some things you just don’t do… Don’t lie. Don’t steal. Don’t break the law. And absolutely do not, under any circumstance, sleep with your best...

REVIEW: Burning the Midnight Oil by Ashley James (Copper Lake #3)

Image
BURNING THE MIDNIGHT OIL Copper Lake - Book Three by Ashley James Release Date: June 7, 2024 Review "Whether I like it or not, I feel a pull toward him, one that is confusing, but maybe we don't have to decipher it. Maybe we can just be." Straight and having feelings for his brother-in-law - talk about awkward!  This is a slow burn as Boone processes his divorce and subsequent changing feelings for a man, let alone his ex-wife’s brother.  I adored Boone, and have been so excited about his story, he’s a fantastic man and a lovely father. I feel protective of him. As such I want to have some words with Shooter. LOL It’s definitely a forbidden romance, even if not entirely, which definitely makes for some angst and a lot of push and pull. As lovely as they are together, I have to say, Jade is a better woman than me because I wouldn’t be so forgiving!! Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Rule number one: Don’t fall for my brother in law. It should be easy, right? W...

REVIEW: Dirt Road Secrets by Ashley James (Copper Lake #2)

Image
DIRT ROAD SECRETS Copper Lake - Book Two by Ashley James Release Date: March 22, 2024 Review I need more Bronco-riding cowboys in my life! Especially a Cope. That boy is the kindest and most neighbourly cowboy around. I love his easygoing nature and thoughtfulness. He was definitely the polar opposite of Xander’s business suit ex, and I couldn’t love that more for Xander. Their meet-cute might have been messy, but the development of their relationship certainly wasn’t.  "I need you to know that I plan to make you mine in due time, city boy." They form a sweet friendship that is fun to watch progress. And it’s especially lovely to watch Cope learn some things about his sexuality and discover that ‘spark’. This is just pure sweet, sexy, and lovely. And I’m here for their happy ending. I’m also a little in love with Aggie the highland cow, and to call on Xander’s aunt next time I need to name an animal! It was also great to see more of the rest of the cowboys, they are a hilar...
