REVIEW: Walking on Broken Paths by Amy Aislin

WALKING ON BROKEN PATHS by Amy Aislin Release Date: July 22, 2025 Review All up in my feels from this one!  Grief is a nasty business, and for Jesse, his response is to run away. Leaving home, his parents, and his best friend. Parker has felt that loss for all those years. Left behind, and now trying to run his father's business after he died out of a sense of obligation. When they run into each other again, 15 years later, they pick up their friendship easily. But there are still a lot of feelings to work through, and they tackle past and present together. Which is gorgeous. But darn, what a journey. Especially for Jesse, whose life since leaving has been big and also messy. A stunning story. I can also recommend the audiobook. Aaron Hokanson has a wonderful talent, and his calm, gorgeous cadence was perfect for this story. REVIEW: A Touch of Maple by Amy Aislin (Love in Maplewood #3)

A TOUCH OF MAPLE Love in Maplewood - Book Three by Amy Aislin Release Date: May 30, 2025 Review Nothing is more classic than a small town Vermont Maple Syrup and Hockey-themed romance! And who doesn’t love a dating my brother's rival story?  Especially when it involves a NHL player and maple syrup farmer.  I love Bellemy, he’s not the cocky hockey player you would expect him to be. In fact, he’s super sweet and longing for a home.  So cute.  And though Jason is leery of the man his younger brother hates, and afraid of being used, they develop a really lovely relationship. Full of small-town dates, good food, and of course, maple syrup. Neither can deny the draw they have to one another. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis After being traded numerous times over the course of his pro hockey career, all Bellamy Jordan wants is a place where he belongs. Burlington, Vermont, home of the Vermont Trailblazers, his newest team, might just be that place. The b...

REVIEW: Christmas Beau by Amy Aislin (Christmas Falls Season 2)

CHRISTMAS BEAU Christmas Falls Season 2 by Amy Aislin Release Date: November 29, 2024 Review Christmas Beau is a fantastic holiday romance. Two really wonderful men who, though, are different, not so much that they are opposites.  Four dogs who are completely spoiled and adored, and one 12-year-old who makes you smile at every turn. Hank and Scott are both on new paths in their lives, unsure of their feelings about dating anyone, but open enough to realize a good thing when they see it. Scott is an adorable mess when Henk is around, and I love that frequently his son is around to point it out! (love that kid) His life is in chaos and I really enjoyed that he was open about it. He didn’t find shame in admitting that he was out of work and figuring things out. Hank is the baby of four and with 3 uber-successful brothers, it’s not been easy feeling successful in his own life. He needs someone to see him for who he is, not who he could or ‘should’ have been. With lots of doggy p...

REVIEW: Road to a Cowboy by Amy Aislin (Windsor, Wyoming #2)

Image
ROAD TO A COWBOY Windsor, Wyoming - Book Two by Amy Aislin Release Date: August 6, 2024 Review Fantastic, swoony, BFF cowboys set in gorgeous Wyoming…all the yes’s. A good cowboy story has a certain atmosphere to it - one that evokes the sturdy and laid-back nature of country folk. It’s perfect for a deep connection between two friends to find a love that will last.  And a large ranch and small community provide a great opportunity for found family. People who will support you and care about your future. I love the way they care and support one another, even just as friends. I especially loved how fiercely Austin tried to protect and defend Cal from his mother! I’m also a big fan of a story that incorporates some wanderlust into it. It’s a relationship built on such a steady foundation that it can withstand anything. It honours both their natures, and that makes me swoon every time. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Detour Five years after the death of his spouse,...
