REVIEW: Sacred Virtues by Jem Wendel

Image
SACRED VIRTUES Sins of the Sacred Series by Jem Wendel Release Date: June 3, 2026 Review This was a really wonderful premise, the history of the dissolution of a monastery.  It’s a fascinating world, and really intriguing characters. Especially being gay in both the age but also being in the monastery. I would definitely be interested in more from this world. My only hiccup was that the language sometimes felt too modern for 1539. Especially the intimate moments. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis It’s 1539 and the dissolution of the Monasteries is at its height. Father Theobald knows it’s only a matter of time before his Abbey will be closed. When a young commissioner comes to negotiate he doesn’t expect his virtues might also be at stake. Part of Sins of the Sacred , a dark priest romance shared world series featuring eleven amazing authors. About Jem Wendel Jem is a British author living on the east coast of England with a range of animals. Jem loves to write st...

REVIEW: The Billionaire and The Geek by Jem Wendel and Hinsel Meyer (Love on the Flip Side #2)

Image
THE BILLIONAIRE AND THE GEEK Love on the Flip Side - Book Two by Jem Wendel & Hinsel Meyer Release Date: May 15, 2026 Review A great age-gap and wage-gap story. A chance meeting leaves a lasting impression, so when they meet again, and Chase needs some literary advice, it’s natural for both men to say yes. As they navigate Chase writing book, they also navigate their building emotions and the element of their ages and wealth.  Not to mention Noah’s career desires and struggles, coupled with his fear of Chase stepping in to ‘save him’ with his money. Thankfully, they both listen to each other, even if there are some bumps along the way, taking care to love and support, and they eek out a bright, beautiful future. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Forget the stereotypes and find love on the flip side... Noah I like ancient things. I didn’t really expect to fall for a guy more than twenty years older than me, but I doubt anyone plans for such things. No one ever ...

REVIEW: What's Pride Got To Do With It? by Jem Wendel (Foggy Basin Pride)

WHAT’S PRIDE GOT TO DO WITH IT? Foggy Basin Pride by Jem Wendel Release Date: April 15, 2026 Review I enjoyed this Pride-themed prequel to Zane and Devin’s story and this multi-author small town setting. We get to know a little about these men and how they ended up where they are, while developing a little tension to give us a sense of what’s to come. I’m definitely intrigued by them both, and want to meet more of the townsfolk. I love a good small town. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Zane My brother has always been my number one concern and I’m proud to support him as he helps organise the town’s first Pride event even though I should be looking for someone to help us on the farm. The day goes well except for the dark haired stranger I keep seeing. Devin Foggy Basin was the first town I chose on the map. I’m looking for some temporary work and didn’t know there was a Pride event. No problem, I can look for work after the weekend. If I can just shake off the funny l...

REVIEW: Balls & Falls by Jem Wendel (Blackwood Knights #2)

Image
BALLS & FALLS Blackwood Knights - Book Two by Jem Wendel Release Date: March 16, 2026 Review A wonderful story with two men who have a fantastic connection and a reason to take it slow. One terrible fight, led by an equally terrible ex, created a wedge. Then Gabriel’s dad died, and he had to take over the estate, and by the time he could get his head above water, the rift was too great. But now that Gabriel’s dream equestrian centre is coming true, he wants his best friend, Charley, back at his side. The reunion isn’t hearts and cupcakes, but their journey back to one another is really touching and fun. And it’s beautiful that they get the happy ever after that neither of them expected. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Gabriel Ten years ago I lost my best friend, and now with the dream I only shared with him back then coming to fruition, I have the perfect excuse to make things right, fixing what I broke. Everything's in place so I make an offer I hope he can'...

REVIEW: The Camboy of Cavendish Hall by Jem Wendel (Cavendish Hall #1)

Image
THE CAMBOY OF CAVENDISH HALL Cavendish Hall - Book One by Jem Wendel Release Date: January 19, 2026 Review A really neat premise with a wonderful found family bound by love and acceptance. One of the things I love about reading authors from other countries is the elements of their society building stories that are different from ours.  Lords, Earls, Butlers, and Manors always seem like another world to me. Struggling actor Kai, suddenly becomes an Earl and the owner of an estate and staff. One that owes a lot of money, and holds the secrets of an uncle he never knew.   Feeling drawn to the home and the family he never knew, he moves in, discovering an unconventional family within its walls. Including Jason. The kind and thoughtful groundskeeper. I love how they all come together to support each other and fight to stay together. But I especially love how fun and flirty Jason and Kai are together, as well as being a source of love and support. Add to your TBR List GO...
