AUDIO REVIEW: The Darkest Flame by Christina Lee (Roadmap to Your Heart #1)

Image
THE DARKEST FLAME Roadmap to Your Heart - Book One by Christina Lee Release Date: August 17, 2015 Audio Release Date: May 29, 2020 Review Why are men of questionable morals so sexy. And trust me, the sexual tension between Vaughn and Smoke is delicious.  There is plenty of action - a la Motorcycle Gang - but the soul-deep need these two had for each other made it hella romantic. Seriously the forbidden romance vibes were off the charts!! They are both really interesting men, with complex pasts, some of Smoke’s comes back to cause some trouble. And I really liked Vaughn’s father. I highly recommend the audiobook Tristan James and Iggy Toma as narrators make it all the more delicious. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Vaughn O’Keefe has been part owner of the Hog’s Den for years. Privy to plenty of Disciples of the Road business, he’s never been more ruffled as when a new recruit named “Smoke” walks through the door. Something about the man gets his blood pumping, b...

A NEW EMPIRE Fog City - Book Three by Layla Reyne Release Date: November 11, 2019 Audio Release Date: February 11, 2020 Review Ooof, this was a doozy of a conclusion.  It was thrilling and threw a few surprises at us. It also gave us the answers we’ve been dying for. These two worked so well together, both in saving their city and in their relationship.  And I love that Chris found a family in the Madigans.  They all went through fire together, and came out stronger in the end. Layla really knows how to keep us on our toes, while also making them curl with all the delicious heat. I’m sorry their story is over, they are an addictive pair. Not to mention hearing it through Tristan James’ narration. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Legacies were made to be rewritten. Assassin Hawes Madigan wants to do right—by his family, his organization, his city, and the man he’s falling for, ATF agent Christopher Perri. But Hawes’s rules are being challenged by someone...

AUDIO REVIEW: Zero Divergence by Aimee Nicole Walker (Zero Hour #3)

ZERO DIVERGENCE by Aimee Nicole Walker Release Date: May 17, 2020 Audio Release Date: August 11, 2020 Review Ah man, I adore these two. It started out rocky but over the trilogy, they have become a rock-solid couple.  They are as tenacious in their relationship as they are in solving crimes. There is such love and support. And their chemistry is off the charts. I love the mystery/suspense. It was really well done. Keeping you engaged the whole way through. This final book also did a fantastic job at wrapping up some loose ends without it feeling convenient or forced. I absolutely adore this couple and am super thrilled to realize there’s another series involving Locke and Key.   Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Zero Divergence, noun: no deviation from a course or standard. After a key piece of evidence goes missing, a suspected serial rapist and killer evades prosecution. More than Royce Locke’s reputation is on the line when his investigation into the ...

AUDIO REVIEW: Devil's Hour by Aimee Nicole Walker (Zero Hour #2)

Image
DEVIL’S HOUR by Aimee Nicole Walker Release Date: December 16, 2019 Audio Release Date: April 28, 2020 Review I swoon so hard for Sawyer and Royce, these southern boys, falling hard and taking names along the way! I love getting to know these two even more. Watching their layers continue to peel away. Royce…when he commits, he’s all in. He doesn’t lose his past hurts, but he fights to deal with them because he’s committed to Sawyer. It’s really hard not to fall for Sawyer. Warm and loving. He soothes Royce and brings him alive. This book is all kinds of high stakes and exciting. And I love how working together really brings out how perfect they are together. Written with charm, humour and some delicious heat, I love this author and this series. Not to mention Tristan James does a fantastic job narrating. He really makes me love them even more. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Devil’s hour, noun: the hour when the demon or devil who leads hell is at its strongest. Born...

AUDIO REVIEW: King Slayer by Layla Reyne (Fog City #2)

Image
KING SLAYER Fog City - Book Two by Layla Reyne Release Date: August 5, 2019 Audio Release Date: October 15, 2019 Review Fantastic, just fantastic. Book 2 in this action-packed trilogy, full of lust and secrets in pretty much equal measure! I jumped in King Slayer immediately after finishing Book 1 because I couldn’t bear to wait, but now I’m worried about starting Book 3 because I don’t want it to end. It’s a dilemma common to Layla’s series. I loved changing to Dante’s perspective and getting that outside perspective of Hawes’ family. And just when you think all the secrets and twists have happened, you’re in for a surprise or two.  I don’t know how they’ll get through it all, or past it all for that matter, but I can’t wait to find out. It’s perfect as an audiobook, Tristan James captures all the action, tension and gasps along the way, keeping you on your toes and completely distracted from the work you were supposed to be doing.
