REVIEW: Not Dead Yet by Jenn Burke (Not Dead Yet #3)

NOT DEAD YET Not Dead Yet - Book One by Jenn Burke Release Date: February 4, 2019 Review I love the detective/supernatural combo in a romance book so much! I mean, I love detective, suspense-type romances. Period. But the added supernatural component makes it all the more intriguing. Wes is not dead. Alive but not alive. Dead but not dead. It puts him in a weird, immortal life that keeps him from being able to create ties to people. Case in point, he had tried with Hudson, but between his ‘affliction’ and Hudson being in a bad place at the time, they fell apart. But now their lives are crossing paths over a murder, and it seems prudent to work together. Blending Hudson’s abilities as a detective and Wes’ unique skill set, they have a chance of getting to the bottom of the issue. I do recommend the audiobook.  Greg Boudreaux is a really good narrator, and I find fantasy/supernatural stories are often more fun in audio. REVIEW: Texas Snow by Kelly Fox (Novella)

TEXAS SNOW by Kelly Fox Release Date: December 3, 2025 Review I previously read the original novella, and I loved it a lot. This newly expanded version just makes it that much better.  A morally grey, swoony, exciting, Christmas romance. A murderer and criminal captures the heart of the detective who arrested him. What’s not to love about that?! Jesse has plenty of time in jail to think about the sexy detective that helped but him away - what he would do to him once he’s out. Sometimes naughty, but mostly vengeful.  He finally gets the chance, running for his life, and now, snowed in with Rafferty. It’s still touch and go as to whether or not he’ll take his revenge or just take him to bed. Neither man is as black and white as they would appear on the surface, and people aren’t always who they are by their own choice. I love the way they find common ground and choose trust and love. REVIEW: Brokered Betrayals by Aimee Nicole Walker (Sawyer & Royce: Felonies and Fatherhood #3)

Image
BROKERED BETRAYALS Sawyer and Royce: Felonies and Fatherhood - Book Three by Aimee Nicole Walker Release Date: December 16, 2025 Review A delightful ending for Royce and Sawyer. It’s a cute story, our boys becoming fathers. And there’s plenty of love and humour, as you expect from them. I’m going to miss them. But these two softees will be amazing fathers. This is very heavy on the day-to-day life of child rearing, with only a hint of crime/mystery/suspense, which I would have loved to see more of. But we did get to see a cast of characters we love. Hey, maybe we’ll get another series of them. I feel like I would about them well into grandpa-hood. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Years of dreaming. Nine months of preparing. Fatherhood has finally arrived for Royce and Sawyer Locke. Darla Grace is everything her fathers dreamed she’d be and more. Their precious daughter stole their hearts long before she was born and had them wrapped around her tiny fist with her first...
