REVIEW: Stormz Rising by Nicky James

Image
STORMZ RISING by Nicky James Release Date: July 16, 2026 Review A fantastic story, and yet I pretty much hated every character for the first 60% of the book!! Rival storm-chasing teams are recruited and pitted against each other for a reality TV show, and boy, are they toxic! Including Ozrik’s home life. Like, wow, Ozrik’s mother is scary problematic. Storm chasing is his salvation from his home life. Gale is dragged in the world of storm chasing by his twin sister, who vascilitates from protective to selfish and kind of cruel, but Gale’s head is a mess of secrets and anxiety so he lets her rule the roost.  But it’s not until Ozrik and Gale start building something that either finds a true footing and some real brightness in their life. You’ll be mesmerized by this story, but be prepared to feel some feelings about the people. LOL Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis He was the lightning to my thunder, different in every way, yet we were inextricably linked. A storm ...

REVIEW: Welcoming the Recluse by Nora Phoenix (Forestville Silver Foxes #7)

Image
WELCOMING THE RECLUSE Forestville Silver Foxes - Book Seven by Nora Pheonix Release Date: May 28, 2026 Review Oh my gosh, I’m so in love with Mac’s story and what brought him to the mountain. A quiet man, who keeps to himself and only comes to town for necessities. Afraid of his PTSD he’s removed himself from those he loves. Arek is a wonderful partner. The way he builds a friendship with Mac, and the patience he shows in giving Mac the space to rejoin the world, and accept love.  It’s so beautiful.   And Arek’s children are absolutely wonderful.  They have such amazing personalities, and I adore the way they took to Mac, and helped bring life and love back to his life too. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I’m a man on a mission to stay as far away from everyone else as possible. I have too much damage as a veteran, and this is the only way to keep those I love safe—especially Boden, my teenage son, whom I haven’t seen in years. I find a quiet spot...

REVIEW: Hollow Heart by Eve Holmes (Northern Roots; Atlantic #4)

Image
HOLLOW HEART Northern Roots: Atlantic - Book Four by Eve Holmes Release Date: May 1, 2026 Review This wrecked me! I’m talking, I bawled through the first 50% and continued to tear up off and on throughout the 2nd half. My kryptonite is people who don’t feel worthy, seen, loved, or appreciated. Who don’t believe they will ever find love. And this epic best-friends-to-lovers hit everyone one of those soft spots through Silas. This slow burn (I do mean slow…not a criticism, it’s absolutely gorgeous) follows the life of two best friends in a small town on PEI. Silas doesn’t have it easy. And the only person who really seems to have his back is his dad, until Levi. Teachers, other kids, and even his mom all fail him at EVERY turn. Levi knows how to soothe and help Silas, and no matter what, they are ride or die. Their friendship is beautiful. But then Levi leaves for University, and their lives diverge. And it’s heartbreaking. Then one day, life conspires to bring them back together. ...

AUDIO REVIEW: That One Moment by CS Autumn (Altered Paths #1)

Image
THAT ONE MOMENT Altered Paths - Book One by CS Autumn Release Date: March 14, 2025 Review Two things to know: One - This is phenomenal Two - It requires pretty much every content warning there is, I do mean all of them. Lol I would also note, probably not the best audiobook to listen to on the train heading home a month after your brother died!  I have a habit of listening to audiobooks in the order that I bought them, so though I read the description when I buy it, I don’t always read it before I start listening. So I had forgotten that this dealt with the death of a brother and mental health issues.  But still, it was an amazing book and would be emotional regardless. It really is a heartwrenching story with a super interesting construction. It involves all three men, Caiden, Cooper and Jamie. Cooper and Jamie are madly, perfectly in love. Cooper and his twin Caiden have a complex, intertwined relationship, not just because they are twins but also because Caiden has s...

REVIEW: Kiss Me Again by Garrett Leigh

KISS ME AGAIN by Garrett Leigh Release Date: January 15, 2026 Review What an incredible story.  I don’t have a lot of experience with bi-polar, but this felt real and true. You could really feel both the chaos of living with, as well as loving someone with a mental health illness. Their love story feels hard-won, but also the easiest thing ever, if that makes sense. Ultimately, they are perfect for one another.  Their lives won’t always be easy or smooth; rather, fiercely loving. And I love how finding each other helps settle the rest of their lives and relationships.  Proving how amazing life can be with someone who has your back, and loves you as they are. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Aidan Drummond is happy on his own. A solitary tree surgeon, he’s made peace with working alone, eating alone, being alone. Until a serious accident tears his world apart and lands him in a hospital bed opposite the most beautiful man he’s ever seen. Ludo Giordano is...
