REVIEW: Ethan by Beth Bolden (Hockey Bros #1)

Image
ETHAN Hockey Bros - Book One by Beth Bolden Release Date: August 12, 2026 Review It’s a really good bisexual awakening, with two really likeable men who are both trying to make it into the NHL, while also discovering feelings for one another and trying to figure out how they could possibly be together. Ethan is the youngest Barnes sibling, with two brothers already in the NHL and a sister coaching a hockey team. So the pressure is on, especially as he’s being courted by the same team as the middle brother Charlie. As Hank gets called up to the team, and then back to the AHL, frustration mounting, they also develop deep feelings for each other.  It’s a lot to deal with. But they find their way. I will say, I am of the belief that there can be to much sport in a sport romance. LOL. I generally find it unnecessary.  There was also a lot of time spent on Charlie and Max which felt distracting and repetitive 9rather than setting up for the next book. But in all, it was a rea...

REVIEW: Thunderstruck by Beth Bolden (Toronto Thunder #4)

THUNDERSTRUCK Toronto Thunder - Book Four by Beth Bolden Release Date: June 22, 2026 Review Such a great step-brother's romance, unexpectedly set in the world of American Football.  Step-brothers and now teammates, Trevor and Lane haven’t been close. Lane has been trying to hide his feelings, but now that Trevor has joined his team, and his mother has pushed for them to live together…he can’t hide anymore. There is some really good emotion and tension as they work through their feelings, identity, and the worry about their parents' reactions. But they are also surrounded by an incredible team/family that is supportive, caring, and funny. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis When Lane realizes he’s attracted to his straight stepbro, he’s absolutely thunderstruck . . . It’s not the worst day of Lane’s life when his team, the Toronto Thunder, drafts his baby stepbro, Trevor, but it’s close. No. The worst day was when his mom married Trevor’s dad. Trevor’s just too good,...

AUDIO REVIEW: High or Hell Water by Beth Bolden (Toronto Thunders #3)

HELL OR HIGH WATER Toronto Thunder - Book Three by Beth Bolden Release Date: March 26, 2026 Review TENSION! Nate and Ramsey get off to a steamy start, and the truth of their identities comes to light, and then, the rivalry is on. Ramsey comes across as the stereotype of a professional athlete. Attitude and swagger. But he’s also covering an element of insecurity as he battles an injury. But in refusing to show it, he manages to rile up Nate endlessly. Nate is a pretty sweet guy, and comes across as really down to earth. And I’m endlessly annoyed with his friends and teammates and the lack of care they take with him, always siding with Ramsey. With a mix of hockey and football, you get a wild romance. And if you’ve ever listened to a Beth Bolden audiobook, you’ll know her narrator bestie is Darcy Stark. They make a good pairing, Darcy seemingly really understanding her style and characters. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Come hell or high water, Nate’s gonna be Ramse...

REVIEW: Ride or Die by Beth Bolden (Food Truck Warriors #6)

Image
RIDE OR DIE Food Truck Warriors - Book Six by Beth Bolden Release Date: January 20, 2022 Review Oh, Ren, we knew it would be super sweet when you finally fell! And in truth, there really was no way that you couldn’t fall for Seth. Seth may have had to get creative for Ren to see the possibility of a future, and I don’t normally approve of lying, but it was totally necessary and worth it. Their journey is slightly chaotic, but fun and super sweet. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Can Ren’s bad boy heart be wooed and won? Ren Moretti likes his life—and his hookups—just the way they are: fast and loose. He only ever hooks up with someone once, and relationships? Forget it. Never gonna happen. No guy has ever persuaded him to bend, break, or alter his one date and one night rule. Until Seth Abramson. Seth has always tempted Ren—but it’s not a secret that Seth won’t settle for just one night. A few dates won’t cut it, and he’s not interested in playing around. He wants it ...

REVIEW: On a Roll by Beth Bolden (Food Truck Warriors #3)

Image
ON A ROLL Food Truck Warriors - Book Three by Beth Bolden Release Date: May 6, 2021 Review Off to an explosive start when Gabriel and Sean turn up with a food truck of the same name!  Two years later they are still dug in and refusing to budge. Unpopular opinion - I’m on team Gabriel.  I don’t think he should have to change the name just because Sean has a story for why it matters to him. Especially given that he won’t tell anyone what it is. Sean is actually a bit unlikable at times. Requiring that their relationship remain casual, even knowing Gabriel is looking for more, holding back on his own story. He makes constant demands, but gives nothing.  I guess that makes it more satisfying when he finally lets go and starts living in the present with Gabriel. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis If they could stop arguing for a hot second . . . they might just fall in love. Gabriel Moretti and Sean Cooper should be friends. They’re both passionate about servi...
