REVIEW: Flake It Til You Make It by Beth Bolden (Christmas Falls Season 2)

Image
FLAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT Christmas Falls Season 2 by Beth Bolden Release Date: November 15, 2024 Review This has full-on Christmas, fake dating, and a jerk getting his cumupenance.  Highly recommend. Rocco has my heart. This man moved to Christmas Falls to open a coffee shop/cafe to carve out a little space of his own in a family that is uber-competent and successful. But when he angers the pumpkin spice latte crowd his success seems questionable, and boy that breaks my heart. One bright idea later. He’s fake-dating Deputy Mayor Taylor. It’s a mutual need. Taylor needs to woo the hiring committee for a job he’s perfect for. Family values and stability, and all that…blah. As they ‘date’ throughout the town's holiday events something quite lovely happens. Our boys find looooove! Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis It's beginning to taste a lot like Christmas . . . When Rocco Moretti gets the chance to buy a coffee shop in a small Illinois town, it feels like a miracle...

AUDIO REVIEW: Melting the Ice by Beth Bolden (Portland Evergreens #1)

Image
MELTING THE ICE Portland Evergreens - Book One by Beth Bolden Release Date: October 10, 2024 Audio Release Date: October 21, 2024 Review A great romance between a hockey player and a football player who wind up being unexpected roommates. Brody is returning from an injury which has left him a little adrift over what he wants for his future. Meanwhile, Dean is singularly focused on ‘making it’. It’s his way to a better future. What starts as a tentative living arrangement, blossoms into some lovely exploration. And a beautiful friendship. They are both kind, attentive and wonderfully supportive. I really enjoyed these two discovering themselves and a bright future. It also introduces us to some new characters to fall in love with. The audiobook is narrated by fan favourite Darcy Stark who is well familiar with Beth’s work and always delivers a wonderful experience. AUDIO REVIEW: Summer Catch by Beth Bolden (Charleston Condors novella)

SUMMER CATCH Charleston Condors - Novella by Beth Bolden Release Date: September 4, 2024 Review When your superpower of knowing just which drink everyone needs fails you, it may not be a bad thing. It might just be because they are the one! This is a fun flirty short story between Kieran, our favourite bartender and owner of the Pirates Booty and Jon, the new coach of the Condors. The friendship they develop is profound, and the relationship they build is strong and beautifully supportive. All mixed in with some delicious steam. The audiobook is narrated by Darcy Stark, and he does and excellent job with it. He really brings the story alive and captures the characters and tone of the story perfectly. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Newly hired Charleston Condors’ coach Jonathan Kelley is very aware of all the uphill battles he’s got to climb. There’s a new owner he’s got to please. New culture to implement. New players to train. New rules to follow. But one rule hasn...

REVIEW: Cherry on Top by Beth Bolden (Indigo Bay #2)

Image
CHERRY ON TOP Indigo Bay - Book Two by Beth Bolden Release Date: July 12, 2024 Review Sweet Enzo. No one deserves to be judged for something they did years earlier. When they were young and struggling. Since then he’s followed his dreams and grown into himself. But it’s meeting Will that shows him how true it is and brings him peace in who he is. Will is an absolutely lovely human being. He came to Indigo Bay to build something for himself, and it’s been a huge success, but maybe it’s time to live a little for himself. They are brought together by a supremely interfering mother, who truth be told, I want to ship out to sea.  Their chemistry is hot, but so is the tenderness and care they show for each other. Such a great romance. There’s also plenty of Luca and Oliver to make your heart swoon. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis When Enzo Moretti's mom lures him home to paint one of his famous murals in Indigo Bay, he expects an awkward family reunion. Not an awkward...

REVIEW: Terrible Things by Beth Bolden (Star Shadow #1)

TERRIBLE THINGS Star Shadow - Book One by Beth Bolden Release Date: January 19, 2019 Audio Release Date: October 8, 2019 Narrator: Kirt Graves Review This may be my favourite Beth Bolden so far. I have a thing for angsty and troubled characters, and these boys meet the mark! I wasn’t sure about Caleb, he left with no word for five years and then just strolled back in like nothing happened demanding they go back on tour. I get why he left and I felt for the boy who struggled with addiction mixed with fame and terrible management, but his lack of apology didn’t sit well.  Maybe I was just being protective of Leo. Crushed by being left behind. Unable to continue with the band. His pain is palpable the whole way through. But also his deep deep love for Caleb. And in the end, of course, Caleb worms his way into your heart.  Their bandmates were also wonderful people who I look forward to getting their own stories. They endeared me and I especially loved the way they all pull...
