AUDIO REVIEW: The Daredevil by Duckie Mack (Black Cat Circus #1)

THE DAREDEVIL Black Cat Circus - Book One by Duckie Mack Release Date: May 6, 2023 Audio Release Date: April 15, 2024 Narrator: Zachary Zaba Review Who doesn’t want to believe that the magical world of a circus is really magical?  Giving a safe place and found family for those who don’t always feel wanted or understood elsewhere. And that’s exactly how Drake finds himself a part of Black Cat Circus. The bad boy in need of a safe place. Eli is an adorably awkward guy working a mediocre job with dreams of being a photographer. He plays it safe and quiet. What he needs is a Daredevil to breathe some life into him and help him take chances. They are an adorable pair. I love every scene with Drake pushing Eli to do something out of his comfort zone.  Eli experiencing those moments, the exhilaration, the joy, was wonderful.  I do recommend the audiobook, it’s fun to have these two brought to life by Zachary Zaba. REVIEW: August by Duckie Mack (Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate #1)

AUGUST Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate - Book One by Duckie Mack Release Date: April 12, 2024 Review I think the paranormal is the only explanation for some of the things acrobats can do. And this circus family truly has something special. August is an absolutely beautiful, sweet, kind, and shy person. He’s a centaur that is ashamed of who he is, it’ll take someone special to help August feel confident in who he is, thankfully Alyx comes along.  Alyx is the brother of August’s best friend and circus partner and agrees to help out when Aaron breaks his leg. He’s fun and flirty, and really just a lovely person. They make an adorable couple, and I loved how Alyx helped soothe August’s soul even before he knew the whole truth. There’s a curious mysterious entity that I’m sure we’ll find out more about in stories to come. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis The Balancing Brothers have been performing together at the Black Cat Circus for years. Despite the name of their a...

ANTHOLOGY REVIEW: Cruising: An MM Anthology

Review: This is such a great series. Probably one of the best that I’ve read. It has a really great variety of authors, styles and tropes. Insta-love, kink, musicians, daddies, light, dark, it’s really got it all. It was a mix of authors I’m familiar with and some I wasn’t, so I’m looking forward to adding a few new books to my TBR. This was such a perfect summer read. I suggest you grab your kindle, a sun hat, and your favourite chair and head outside, and dig into this one. 4.5 sunny stars What Happens in Niagara Falls by LD Blakeley A playful and seductive story of two co-workers who seem like they would be complete opposites, and yet, thanks to a room assignment mishap, they may find that they end up more than just colleagues. Two really likable guys, one a little grumpy, the other a little sunshiny, but both are really sweet. And it was cute and fun as they explored the sites and the cruise ship, flirting and getting to know one another. Definitely a great 1st story in this anth...

REVIEW: Love Bites by Duckie Mack

Image
Review: Love Bites is the third book in Duckie Mack’s Love Bank series. And I think by now we know that she has mastered the sweet, romantic, low angst style. Van and Jonah’s story is no different. *swoon* They are both really sweet (at least once you get to know Van he is). And I love a demisexual story, because, well, representation matters, but also because they are slow burn romances, which are one of my favs. This story also reminds us that first impressions matter but also they don’t tell the whole story. I love how food connects them and forges a bond, and acts as foreplay! *wink, wink* What I also loved was that even though Van wasn’t demisexual, he needed the slow pace too, to learn to trust and appreciate what they had. Together they provide each other the grounding they need to follow their dreams. With spring upon us, it feels like the perfect time for a sweet, romantic romance! REVIEW: Bo Next Door by Duckie Mack

Image
Review: Ian and Bodhi are both super adorable, on their own and together. Each of them suffers from feeling like they’re never fully seen, but together it feels like they’ve finally found someone who sees all parts of them, but is that enough? The story focuses on the relationship of this duo, one a rock god, the other a sweet pet shelter worker. Following them as they get to know each other, learn each other's hearts and secrets, falling in love. But if they don’t learn to communicate, it may not be enough. Though there are a couple of steamy scenes, this is focused on the sweet story of them coming together, with the help of an over-eager doggie and a pushy (but loving) sister. Stars: 4 🕮 Bo Next Door by @authorduckiemack 📚 Add to your TBR ➟ https://bit.ly/3rg8aHY Synopsis: Ian enjoys the spotlight, the band, the fans—everything he’s worked hard to get. But very few people know the man under the fierce makeup and loud clothes. Bodhi is excited for a fresh start in a new town ...

REVIEW: All the Stars by Duckie Mack

Review: This was sweet, funny, and sexy. I enjoyed every minute of it. At times it was super sweet (achingly so), sometimes it was laugh-out-loud funny, and other times it oozed sex appeal (and not just at the steamy times). I love a good best friend pinning story. They are beautiful and sad, and oh so satisfying at the end, and this one didn’t disappoint. These two were adorable and silly, and their bond was so deep. I loved how they just understood each other and knew how to help the other in their moments of uncertainty or need. I also loved the best friend Ian, we all need a best friend like him! I finished the book in one go, and I don’t regret it for a minute. Stars: 5 🕮 All the Stars by @authorduckiemack 📚 Add to your TBR ➟ https://bit.ly/3xeqdSD Synopsis: Rider doesn’t have a lot of rules when it comes to guys, but there is one- he doesn’t date, not ever. He’s content with random hookups because dating means too much. That’s reserved for the one person he knows he can nev...
