SOMETHING CRYPTID THIS WAY COMES Love in Maplewood - Book Nine by Susan Scott Shelley Release Date: July 11, 2025 Review I’ll never tire of BFF’s pinning and falling in love. Add in a small town, and in this case, some Cryptid investigations, and it’s a swoon every time for me. They are both great people - kind, thoughtful, and love dogs! When Trevor gets talked into doing a festival in honour of the town's cryptid, Mable, it’s only natural to call in his best friend, Bram, an investigator and podcaster, to come and help.  The only problem, they’ll have to spend a bunch of time together. But they work so well together. And before you know it, they aren’t just having doggy dates! Investigating Mabel, preparing the haunted house, and running the B&B, they find themselves working as a perfect team. Their story will make you smile.   OVER THE TOP Love is All Anthology Vol 6 by Susan Scott Shelley and Chantal Mer Release Date: June 6, 2023 Review Over the Top is one of the stories in the Love Is All Anthology, and is part of the new series, Philadelphia Power. Book 1, Against the Rush, was wonderful, and we met Calder and Riggs there, but do not worry, it’s not necessary to have read it to enjoy this one. They’ve known each other for a while now, and Riggs has been dressing Calder all season, but Calder’s been focusing on his rookie year. But now that the season is over… It’s clear they both are interested in the other and in a risky move, Calder invites Riggs to make a weekend away at the awards ceremony to be their first date! What comes next is a really adorable whirlwind date, with sweet and thoughtful outings, Calder talking up Riggs’ skills to anyone that will listen, and cute coupling. Surrounded by the snarky (yet caring and loyal teammates) this makes for a really great short story. Add to your TBR Li...

AGAINST THE RUSH Philedelphia Power - Book One by Susan Scott Shelley and Chantal Mer Release Date: May 30, 2023 Review If hockey players who are sweet, thoughtful, and adorable with children aren’t your kink already, they will be by the end of this. Jalen, Leif & Thea are pure magic together.  They are all my favourite people! In Against the Rush you have Jalen, a hockey coach who is absolutely perfect with the children he coaches, and Leif a professional hockey player and dad to one of kids Jalen coaches. These two are smitten from the very beginning. But it requires a little bit of help from some meddling friends to get them to make a move. And the friends are all so wonderful. They struggle to make their schedules work and have the adorable Thea to factor in, but their desire to be together is strong. And in the end, love wins. This is a happy, feel-good story, with lots of great characters just waiting for their own stories. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Jal...

REVIEW: Shine by Susan Scott Shelley & Chantal Mer (Love & Rugby #3)

Image
SHINE Love & Rugby - Book Three by Susan Scott Shelley and Chantal Mer Release Date: March 22, 2022 Review Shine is a quiet and subdued book full of love, sweetness, and healing. I love books that are full of angst, tortured souls, and pain, but I equally love a book that is simply a story of two men, living their lives and finding love. Just a beautiful story. Shine is about Apollo and Hercules. Both are part of the same rugby team and friend group. Both are oblivious to the other's interest, but their friends haven’t missed the looks, so they take it upon themselves to give these two a little nudge. A nudge they both welcome. They are sweet together, both calm souls, who enjoy the simple pleasures of each other. However, they are human, complete with busy lives, insecurities, and past hurts, so there is still some navigating that has to happen to give these guys their future together.  It’s real. And satisfying that along the way they don’t just find love and acceptanc...
