FINISHING LINES Hollywood Hopefuls - Book Five by Jeris Jean Release Date: May 19, 2023 Review Finising Lines contains two of my favourite things. Best Friend Romance and Second Chance Romance. There’s something about the familiarity, history, and inside knowledge that best friends have that makes me want to cheer when they get together. And second chances…well, who doesn’t love the idea that mistakes can be corrected or forgiveness can be found! The longing between Sam and Wyatt is palpable. These two have lost their way over bridging the gap between friendship and lovers. They just need to find their bravery to make the leap, find their trust, and be honest about the future. Both guys are pretty interesting and well developed and you definitely find yourself rooting for both of them. They also have a super duper group of friends and family that really bring a lot of liveliness and an extra dose of love to the story. Review: A lovely, low-angst story about two very sweet men who finally find love after they have been secretly pining for each other since they first met. Ian and Ash are wonderful together. They are so clearly smitten with each other (I’m surprised they were able to hide it for so long). After the build-up of them each dreaming of the other, being sure they were getting vibes (though they were equally sure they were misreading them), it was absolute fire when they first kissed. The lead-up and backstories were so well written, that there was no question they were meant to be together, and felt absolutely believable. The light d/s dynamic gave their story a little kick, taking it from just a sweet story, to a sweet and steamy one. It was a great twist, and I loved everything about it. I’m also smitten with how readily they accepted each other for who they were, and what they loved, and were quick to defend each other when necessary. Review: This is such a great series. Probably one of the best that I’ve read. It has a really great variety of authors, styles and tropes. Insta-love, kink, musicians, daddies, light, dark, it’s really got it all. It was a mix of authors I’m familiar with and some I wasn’t, so I’m looking forward to adding a few new books to my TBR. This was such a perfect summer read. I suggest you grab your kindle, a sun hat, and your favourite chair and head outside, and dig into this one. 4.5 sunny stars What Happens in Niagara Falls by LD Blakeley A playful and seductive story of two co-workers who seem like they would be complete opposites, and yet, thanks to a room assignment mishap, they may find that they end up more than just colleagues. Two really likable guys, one a little grumpy, the other a little sunshiny, but both are really sweet. And it was cute and fun as they explored the sites and the cruise ship, flirting and getting to know one another. Definitely a great 1st story in this anth...
