REVIEW: Icarus and the Devil by Layla Reyne (Soul to Find #1)

Image
ICARUS AND THE DEVIL Soul to Find - Book One by Layla Reyne Release Date: October 3, 2023 Review Layla has built a fascinating world that is dark and dystopian but has an incredible group of people fighting to save and protect it. And when their lives collide and cross each other as they work against a particularly power-hungry and evil villain. It’s a complex world that she’s built and the narrative draws you right in. Icarus and the Devil is a compelling story, where Icarus and Adam find themselves battling side by side, and falling deeply in love while building each other up. The nature of the world they are living in means they all have some form of tragic backstory, and both of theirs will tug at your heartstrings. There’s so much to it, that it’s truly hard to express my thoughts. But it’s a wonderfully crafted one that’s definitely worth a read. REVIEW: Paris and the Reaper by Layla Reyne (Soul to Find #2)

Image
PARIS AND THE REAPER Soul to Find - Book Two by Layla Reyne Release Date: October 22, 2024 Review You get what you deserve. And Paris and Mac deserve each other. Full Stop. These beautiful hurting souls who have seen and been through too much. But they won’t get their happy ending if they don’t figure out who to trust and how to put an end to all the evil that is transpiring. Paris, the son of one of the worst humans around, ends up working with Mac, a reaper and their friends and family to dismantle it all and set things right. I love their connection and the way they each embraced the other’s full self. I love Layla’s writing, her characters and the worlds she builds. Though I’ll never love anyone more than Marsh, her cowboy agent, but Paris and Mac are pretty good runner-ups! Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I was given the name Paris at birth. So far, I’ve lived up to it; or rather, down to it. Too pretty, too unfocused, too easy a target. My father even tried to ...

AUDIO REVIEW: Angel's Share by Layla Reyne (Agents Irish & Whiskey #5)

Image
ANGEL’S SHARE Agents Irish and Whiskey - Book Five by Layla Reyne Release Date: August 20, 2024 Review Swoon!! How gorgeous are Jamie and Aiden? Working together like a dream. Supporting one another. Loving one another. And saving the people they love together. Their working relationship has veered but that actually makes them stronger. They still work cases together from time to time. And this case is important! This one involves something very personal. Admisted the chaos, suspense, and tension - their love is palpable and we get a pretty fantastic happy ending.  This final book to the Agents Irish & Whiskey series is epically satisfying. Whether the written word or audiobook I highly recommend it. But for the record, narrator Christian Leatherman was excellent and made it all the more enjoyable. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Husbands Aidan Talley and Jameson Walker team up again as Agents Irish & Whiskey for their most precarious case yet in this es...

AUDIO REVIEW: Barrel Proof by Layla Reyne (Agents Irish and Whiskey #3)

Image
BARREL PROOF Agents Irish and Whiskey - Book Three by Layla Reyne Release Date: August 26, 2023 Audio Release Date: May 24, 2024 Review Our boys have been put through the wringer, and if hospitals had a frequent fliers club they would have definitely earned about a month of free stays! Though this is the end (not completely the end) of their romance, there are still a lot of surprises and mysteries to follow. But one thing you won’t question is the strength of their love and the rightness of their partnership. Aiden and Jamie are amazing and I adore everything about them. They are so fiercely loyal and passionate. The whole series was fantastic and kept me glued to the page (or headphones). You’ll definitely want to binge, especially as there’s a new final book that’s almost here. Personally, I recommend the audiobooks. Christian Leatherman has been a treat as narrator. Perfectly suited to the style and characters.  Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Special Agents...

AUDIO REVIEW: Cask Strength by Layla Reyne (Agents Irish and Whiskey #2)

Image
CASK STRENGTH Agents Irish and Whiskey - Book Two by Layla Reyne Release Date: August 26, 2023 Audio Release Date: May 28, 2024 Review Oooph, this gets better with book 2. As we get to know Aiden and Jamie better and better the more invested you’ll become. A lot is happening, there are a lot of moving parts, and it’s definitely not smooth sailing for our boys, but their love is still strong. We get to see Jamie in action back in his old world of basketball when he goes undercover. But it’s not the only case taking place and in the course of it secrets are kept and revealed.  I love them both. Both are stubborn in their own right which makes them amazing and disasters all at the same time. There are plenty of surprises, and of course, it ends on a cliff hanger, so be sure to have book 3 on deck. I’m still thoroughly impressed by narrator Christian Leatherman, he brings a great story to life with a great voice and a wonderful understanding of the characters and the story. Add ...
