REVIEW: The Key Holder by Finn Dixon (Pathfinder Lake #3)

Image
THE KEY HOLDER Pathfinder Lake - Book Three by Finn Dixon Release Date: August 12, 2025 Review Ford and Dylan, Ex-Stepfather/Stepson, find themselves sharing a cabin on Pathfinder Lake, as they both hide out to regroup from hookup culture. Dylan has always had a thing for Ford, and now, when they should be focusing on anything other, he’s spending the summer with the very man. A man who’s caring and competent, and wears very tiny bathing suits. Over the summer they draw closer, getting to know one another more completely, till it’s not just the sun that’s heating up. It’s a light read. And I enjoyed both guys, but a few aspects felt forced to add quirkiness for the sake of quirkiness. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis The summer promised escape. It delivered temptation. Ford A summer alone at my ex-wife’s cabin at Pathfinders Lake is just what I needed. A chance to relax, reset, and figure out how to get what I want. Namely, a genuine connection with a man that isn’t j...

REVIEW: Seductive Nights by Ashley Rayne (Peaches #2)

Image
SEDUCTIVE NIGHTS Peaches - Book Two by Ashley Rayne Release Date: July 8, 2025 Review Peaches is a found family workplace, full of friends who love and care for one another, which I always enjoy. Jonas has suffered the loss of his husband, and ever since he’s just been going through the motions, and probably wouldn’t ‘people’ if it wasn’t for work and his brother-in-law. But he’s also a caretaker, so when Preston is in need of a place to stay, he can’t help but offer up his home. What follows is a perfectly lovely story of two men finding love after loss and a broken heart. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Jonas Five years ago, after I lost my husband, I barricaded my heart, not strong enough to let another person get close to it. When our sweet but clumsy bartender, Preston, needs somewhere to stay, I offer him my spare bedroom. We’re friends, nothing more. Now, though, the more time I spend with my new roommate, the more he tears down the walls I’ve built. He’s bubb...

REVIEW: Rules of Play by Hayden Hall (The Saints of Westmount U #3)

Image
RULES OF PLAY The Saints of Westmount U - Book Three by Hayden Hall Release Date: June 17, 2025 Review Lower angst than the previous ones - I enjoyed the premise of the story. A student is shadowing a hockey player to study his behaviour. There was no doubt it would fail from the first eye flutter.   It takes a lot of work to stay impartial with a subject you are spending so much time with. And two college guys who are attracted to one another are definitely not the best candidates to do that! I didn’t connect with this one as much as the others, but it was a solid addition to the Westmount series. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis He was supposed to be my study subject, not my obsession. Shane I study elite athletes: their focus, their flaws, their fire. But Patrick Callahan? He’s a category of his own. Too loud, too confident, and way too hot to be safe for science. He’s all swagger and sweat and reckless charm. Tracking his heartbeat was easy. Keeping mine...

REVIEW: Love Me Like It's Real by Rhys Everly (Love in Maplewood #2)

Image
LOVE ME LIKE IT’S REAL Love In Maplewood - Book Two by Rhys Everly Release Date: May 23, 2025 Review Felix is as wonderful as I thought he would be from meeting him in book one.  The recent transplant, with a couple of wonderful children, meets the most cynical romance hater to live. Jack’s mission in life is to put an end to love and romance. And causing chaos during the town’s Valentine’s festival is his raison d'être.  Felix may be currently off love at the moment, but deep down, that man is a die-hard lover. I didn’t love Jack - he’s immature and a bit ridiculous, but the story was fun, and Felix finding love was all you could really want anyway. And their little family is cute. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis It was all pretend... until it wasn’t. I don’t have time for dating. I'm too busy making Maplewood my home after everything I've been through. But when my daughters decide I need a boyfriend, I do only thing a desperate single dad can do… I lie. E...
