REVIEW: His Reluctant Savior by Courtney W Dixon (The District #3)

Image
HIS RELUCTANT SAVIOR The District - Book Three by Courtney W. Dixon Release Date: February 6, 2025 Review Give me cat and mouse chases any day of the week!  Sid and Dalton, with a complicated past, end up on the run together. Protecting Dalton from numerous killers out to get him, and the chase is real.  Poor Dalton’s life has careened out of control and everything he believed in is now in question. And being on the run with his childhood bully and a killer wasn’t on his bingo card. What starts off as extremely tense (duh!) builds beautifully. The tension continues but shifts and slowly trust and love are built. World views shift and something new is built in the grey in between with a family that may seem unusual but a family nonetheless. This one is ‘lighter’ than the others but it’s still deliciously dark and gritty. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I have a second chance to right wrongs, even if it means I’ll lose my family and life. Sid Virgil FBI analy...

REVIEW: Blaze & Ajax by Courtney W. Dixon (Alpha's Rejects #3)

BLAZE & AJAX Alpha’s Rejects - Book Three by Courtney W. Dixon Release Date: December 17, 2024 Review These two had a questionable start. They hate each other and Blaze goads Ajax into some interactions that push boundaries and bring up some deeply concerning trauma.  But they work through it amazingly.  Opening themselves up and exposing their tender underbellies to each other.  It’s really quite lovely. That’s not to say this is a light-hearted story. The opposite.  It’s explosive and heated, and they are in for a rough ride while they sort themselves out and work through all the ails them.  It hurt my heart, while also being beautiful and hopeful. A journey from hate to steadfast loyalty. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I didn’t want him, but I had to have him. Blaze (Aiden) I ruined my cush life five years ago. I came from wealth and was kicked out with nothing but the clothes on my back. Even the man I’d been with, who had mastered ...

REVIEW: The Kiss by Courtney W. Dixon (Say Their Names Charity Anthology)

THE KISS Say Their Names Charity Anthology by Courtney W. Dixon Release Date: December 1, 2024 Review The Kiss by Courtney W. Dixon The day he finds out he is HIV+ thanks to his cheating ex is not the day to find someone new. The kiss the he and Dallas shared though has stayed with them both. Years later it still stars in their daydreams. It’s a really good story about love and living after life-altering news. And some fate make sure they get a chance at true happiness. I often struggle reading stories about HIV/AIDS because I was actively involved in the AIDS pandemic in the 80s and 90s and I can be dragged under by history and deaths, but I enjoy reading modern stories, where science and medicine means people can live long and beautiful lives. This story reminds me to be hopeful and happy. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Say Their Names is an anthology of short stories about living and loving with HIV/AIDS by authors of gay romance. Proceeds from the sale of this ...

AUDIO REVIEW: All Roads Lead to You by Courtney W. Dixon

ALL ROADS LEAD TO YOU by Courtney W. Dixon Release Date: August 28, 2024 Audio Release Date: November 8, 2024 Review I read this first but couldn’t pass up the chance to experience it as an audiobook.  And it was just as good the second time. It was my first by Narrator Harley Chase - and I was impressed.  He’s got an incredible voice, and really captured the characters and the story.  My Original review:  Be still my 80’s reminiscent heart. It really was a different time, coming of age without technology. Add in being gay during the AIDS pandemic and decades before same-sex marriage will even be considered, and your heart will melt for Logan, hiding his sexuality, losing his mother, and acquiring a step-brother who he’s attracted to. And now his dream of road-tripping across the country with his best friend is falling apart. But you’ll feel for Nick too. He is completely oblivious to why his new brother can’t stand him, wondering why his father left him, and ...

REVIEW: Finding Home by Courtney W. Dixon (Heart & Home Duet #2)

Image
FINDING HOME Heart and Home Duet - Book Two by Courtney W. Dixon Release Date: October 25, 2024 Review This was a thoughtful and touching journey for Darren and Christian. Together and independently.   What they had was beautiful and restorative, and while there were moments you were worried about some of the tendencies and behaviours they were creating, these two men never failed to rise to the challenge of being better humans and better partners. They were also surrounded by some incredible people who never gave up on them. If you’ve read A Home in You, this is Darren’s redemption story, and there is nothing I love more.  His story will hurt your heart but will also make you hopeful. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis I didn’t know what home was until I found you. Darren I need to get out of here and away from this small town and away from my father. My home life is less than ideal. I don’t only want to run away from him but from who I am. I fight every...
