REVIEW: Goaltender Interference by Brigham Vaughn (Scoring Chances #1)

Image
GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE Scoring Chances - Book One by Brigham Vaughn Release Date: January 17, 2025 Review Brigham is a fantastic writer who always creates stories that you become highly invested in,  They write stories that are low-ish angst but deep and thoughtful. And though this story is LONG it delivers a chance to really sink into the characters and the storyline. And given the subject matter, like a closeted athlete who has to struggle with his religion to come to terms with himself, the chance to not gloss over it all is beautiful. Connor is an O’Shea… which means a large, loud, chaotic, and hockey-loving family. He has two kids and an ex-wife.  And he’s captain of his hockey team. And he’s in the closet. It’s a lot. But it becomes even more so when Jesse Webber gets traded to his team. The young brash and wild playboy. He lives up to his nickname - Chaos Demon! It’s an entertaining and emotional partnership and it earns every one of its 500+ pages. Add to your ...

REVIEW: Frost Impressions by Kelly Fox (Christmas Falls Season 2)

FROST IMPRESSIONS Christmas Falls Season 2 by Kelly Fox Release Date: December 6, 2024 Review What a delight.  I love a story where grumps are really softies and the sunshiny is also dark.  Gray and Sunny met at their worst. And to top it off Gray has to take Sunny in when his cabin roof collapses.  It doesn’t take long for them to start peeling the layers back and see beneath that exterior. And it was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the way the community saw Gray, and how much they loved their grump. It was really special. These are the kind of characters that will stick with me for a long while. This story also had a lot of great lines! Here are a couple of my favs: “Gray shook his head. “You two are the same person in different font.” “But what I’m hearing you say is that we are both just really f*ing broken.” Gray snorted. “Got my millionaire at a scratch and dent sale, folks.” Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Living in a town named Christmas Falls ...

There’s nothing better than best friends mutually pining for each other.  I love the familiarity they have and I love watching them fall completely. I especially love watching Dakota find his person and his home.  That boy deserves all the love and to realize how amazing he is.  Tad’s a great guy, always ready to stand by Dakota, but also his own person.  A journalist who can’t help himself when a crime takes place and a sketchy business deal has people buzzing. It’s a fun side story while watching them fall in love. Ps. you’ll love the connections to other of her stories. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Stolen toys and a naughty St. Nick. REVIEW: Tastes Like Sugar by Becca Seymour (Collier's Creek Christmas)

Image
TASTES LIKE SUGAR Collier’s Creek Christmas by Becca Seymour Release Date: November 22, 2024 Review This is a sexy story.  I really enjoyed this age-gap hookup turned coworker romance. They are pretty damn sweet with each other, and it was full of flirting, coy looks and secret touches. Sully is starting over in Collier’s Creek when he meets Hayes, a younger man who turns out to be his colleague and nephew’s best friend. But they are just too perfect together to let those things get in the way. Hayes is adorably energetic, and despite his confidence, he also has a little bit on vulnerability that’s hard not to fall for.   A great addition to this multi-author series set in a Christmas-loving small town that knows everything about you by breakfast. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Nothing like sugar kisses to bring people together for the holidays… After ditching the chaos of city life—and a cheating fiancé—I’m more than ready for a fresh start.
