It wasn’t just about past hurts and moving on, but the lasting effects, the unexpected emotions and reactions, but yes, also growth and love. I also loved the humour that snuck its way in between the grumpiness, horniness, worry, and brightness that the men and their friends brought us. What started as a check box to settle an estate became an absolutely gorgeous relationship that grew slowly and steadily.   BODY CHECK Scoring Chances - Book Two by Brigham Vaughn Release Date: May 30, 2025 Review Dakota and Gavin get started on the wrong foot. Gavin is the General Manager of a NHL team - see workaholic in the dictionary. And he’s not thrilled with having Dakota foisted on him as the new Yoga/Pilates trainer. What starts out tense quickly turns to lust as they come to an agreement on a no-strings relationship.  Both have been burned in the past and are struggling with self-worth, trust, and past trauma. But somewhere along the line, they build trust and offer the support they each need in order to find new footing and deal with the past. I will admit that it took me a while to really warm up to Dakota. Though it was Gavin who was a jerk at first, it was Dakota who kept that energy going. Quiet, a little grumpy, a little withdrawn, and maybe a little lost and lonely. Then there’s Cash - outgoing, sexual, and completely obsessed with Declan.  It’s a slow burn. One that requires both of them to shift their understanding of each other, and time to truly learn and understand both themselves and the other. I love both the trajectory of the relationship as well as the life and home they build.  It’s a truly wonderful pairing that may be my favourite in the series. Sure I see a bit of myself in Declan, but I also just adore the way Cash grew and how they balanced each other.   GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE Scoring Chances - Book One by Brigham Vaughn Release Date: January 17, 2025 Review Brigham is a fantastic writer who always creates stories that you become highly invested in,  They write stories that are low-ish angst but deep and thoughtful. And though this story is LONG it delivers a chance to really sink into the characters and the storyline. And given the subject matter, like a closeted athlete who has to struggle with his religion to come to terms with himself, the chance to not gloss over it all is beautiful. Connor is an O’Shea… which means a large, loud, chaotic, and hockey-loving family. He has two kids and an ex-wife.  And he’s captain of his hockey team. And he’s in the closet. It’s a lot. But it becomes even more so when Jesse Webber gets traded to his team. The young brash and wild playboy. He lives up to his nickname - Chaos Demon!
