REVIEW: Hurricane Reese by RL Merrill (Forces of Nature #1)

Image
HURRICANE REESE Forces of Nature - Book One by RL Merrill Release Date: August 1, 2020 Review Reese is the very definition of leaping before thinking. The guy is a live wire.  After a soap opera-worthy breakup, he decides to move in with his grandfather, who’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Displacing Jude, the live-in caregiver, in the process. What Reese doesn’t know…Jude has nowhere to go. He has a large family who are all already stretched too thin. Jude is such a kind soul, who’s martyred his life for his family. Working, putting his siblings through school, getting his degree, and denying his sexuality to them. He’s even willing to go back to work for Reese when the man discovers he’s in over his head. Reese brings with him drama. And his grandfather is a firecracker. The three of them together are all kinds of adorable. It’s not all smooth sailing, but it’s an exciting story. Ps. I adore the covers of this series. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Reese i...

REVIEW: EWB by NR Walker

Image
EWB by NR Walker Release Date: September 29, 2023 Review A delicious and spicy enemies-to-lovers story by a fav author. It has all the best elements of the trope, sexual tension and misconstrued hate. But they both have a vulnerability that is hidden underneath. They just need to share it with each other, you know, once they stop despising each other. “And I’d never needed softness before. Not before him. I’d taken care of myself and got through just fine. I was resilient and self-sufficient. I’d anchored myself to withstand any storm. Until him.” I loved the increasingly tender moments that transpired at unexpected moments and as they worked through some significant hurts that life has doled out. In the end, Marshall turns out to be the world's best boyfriend, and Valentine is quite deep. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Marshall I hate Valentine Tye. I’ve hated him since we were ten years old. I hate everything he is, everything he stands for. Even the mention of hi...

REVIEW: Forever Finn by Vawn Cassidy (Belong to Me #2.5)

Image
FOREVER FINN Belong to Me - Book 2.5 by Vawn Cassidy Release Date: September 14, 2022 Review I’ve put off reading Forever Finn because it’s the last in the series and I just couldn’t garner any excitement for it being over. I’ve loved these boys, and I’ve loved Vawn’s writing. From the outside Finn has everything. Fame, fortune, and a beautiful girlfriend. But when he finds himself unable to take it anymore, he returns to a place that used to be home. He’s been running from himself and the guilt of the past for a long time now. Whether he knows it or not, it’s time to face some truths. Wyatt also finds himself in the small cornish town needing to get away from his life back home. That’s how he finds himself working for Jamie as the new hot Canadian hunk of a Vet.  There is so much emotion here. Especially Finn. The closeted actor has to decide if he can handle staying in the closet and being unhappy for the rest of his life. If the fame and money are worth it. But meeting Wy...

NOVELLA REVIEW: Ray of Sunshine by Casey Cox

Image
RAY OF SUNSHINE by Casey Cox Release Date: September 4, 2023 Review Such a wonderful short story. Full of heart and sweetness. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Two best friends reunite when Ray returns to his hometown of Sunshine. Both men are at a pivotal moment in their lives and are looking for change. They are a wonderful pairing. They have the easygoing nature that best-friend romances give us. It’s the reason they are my favourite. The joy they feel when they are together, the laughs, and the comfort is what makes them special together. Fantastic. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Sometimes, what you need after a storm is a ray of sunshine… Moving back to his hometown of Sunshine at the age of thirty-seven was never in Ray's plans. Neither was raising his beautiful twin girls alone. But after cancer stole his husband and surviving in the big city on a single wage became too expensive, Ray was left with no other choice. Juggling a bruising divorce, sick parents, and a pun...

REVIEW: Leo by JJ Harper (Bar 28 #3)

Image
LEO Bar 28 - Book Three by JJ Harper Release Date: May 28, 2021 Review I’m still catching up on JJ’s incredible found family at Bar 28, I’m so happy to have finally made it to Leo’s story. It was an incredible journey. Sweet, sexy and full of fun online chats, but still has the heart and emotion we love and expect from JJ. I love the meet online and in the real world trope. We are often different people in both worlds, so watching two people fall for each other twice is super swoony. And the super supportive and protective friends really made it all the better. The journey, the passion, the joy…it was all fantastic. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Two men, one night, and the chance of a lifetime. After a destructive relationship ended five years ago, Leo Ritchie hasn’t trusted himself or anyone else enough to try again. He has great friends and loves his job at BAR 28, and for now, it’s enough. That and the late-night online chats with @Brunobear. Bruno Alderton, one...
