REVIEW: Mine to Keep by RS McKenzie (Bloody Desires #10)

Image
MINE TO KEEP Bloody Desires - Book Ten by RS McKenzie Release Date: September 1, 2025 Review This was a fun story. And I loved the Canadian content. Being a hitman is solitary life, and like most of them Knox got into the business for personal reasons, and ultimately it just became what he knew. But things are going wrong, and then he meets two young, vibrant men who could use his brand of love. But before that can happen, a game of cat and well, cat has to play out.   Talon and Javier are lovely and adorable together. Vibrant and thoughtful, and perfect for the closed-off and isolated Knox. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Being a hitman isn’t easy, but it pays the bills. I’m in and out before my mark even knows I’m there. I’m the best in the business and I’m in high demand. Until I botch a job that should have been effortless. I take a month off to get my head back in the game, then I’m sent on a mission overseas. While at the airport, I meet two of the mo...

REVIEW: Casual Felonies by Kelly Fox (Wildlings #1)

Image
CASUAL FELONIES Wildlings - Book One by Kelly Fox Release Date: August 20, 2025 Review I am obsessed with the idea of a second generation of characters from a beloved series. I haven’t read the whole original series, but that didn’t detract for one second. I’m utterly smitten with Kelly’s writing style, which feels serious, deep, over the top and a little wild all at the same time. It’s contemporary with a hint of it being futuristic, with some of the impressive tech they have. The pairing is fantastic. The incredibly smart but slightly oblivious son of vigilante parents and the sexy barber with a vigilante side gig. The path to getting together is fraught with landmines and some hilarious antics, but once they figure it out (mostly figuring out how to navigate a couple of distiburlingly scare parents), they make a pretty solid and formidable team. Seriously, it’s actually really hard to describe all that goes on here, but expect a large group of very close ‘wildling’ cousins, pa...

REVIEW: Pretty Mess by Lily Morton

Image
PRETTY MESS by Lily Morton Release Date: August 17, 2025 Review Wes turns to escorting at his friend's suggestion when he discovers his brother's mounting debts. It seems easy enough - sleep with a wealthy guy, get paid. Until the grumpy billionaire, Cormac, makes him an offer.  A very hot and tough nut to crack. His friend Julian gave him a list of rules, but who knew Wes was so terrible at following rules! It’s quite hilarious to watch both men, in their own right, try not to fall. And boy, they are almost as bad at communication. Like all of Lily’s books, the banter and snark are strong, and the side characters will also steal your heart. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Kiss him, sleep with him, but don’t ever fall in love with him. The first time Wes Archer steps into Jack of Clubs, an exclusive London pleasure club, he’s completely confident he can heed the tried-and-true advice about becoming an escort. Wes gives himself away for free with casual hookups a...

REVIEW: The Burnt by Peter E Fenton (Declan Hunt Mysteries #3)

Image
THE BURNT The Declan Hunt Mysteries - Book Three by Peter E. Fenton Release Date: August 5, 2025 Review I wish there were more mystery romances out there.  I love the mystery-solving, both the entertainment value of the cases, but also as a plot point to a developing relationship. And Declan and Charlie are a dynamic duo. They have great banter, but are also caring people. Book three, and Declan and Charlie are still finding their way as boyfriends and colleagues, but it’s clear they could be amazing. And now Charlie is learning to become a detective, too. They each take on a case, but before long, they find their cases connecting. Which is perfect, because they do their best work together. They put to bed a case that Declan worked on as a police officer, but it also uncovers some things that I’m sure will cause them both some headaches in the future!!  Peter is a great writer, and I especially love this series.  Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Book th...
