What starts as a tentative living arrangement, blossoms into some lovely exploration. And a beautiful friendship. They are both kind, attentive and wonderfully supportive. I really enjoyed these two discovering themselves and a bright future. It also introduces us to some new characters to fall in love with. It might just be because they are the one! This is a fun flirty short story between Kieran, our favourite bartender and owner of the Pirates Booty and Jon, the new coach of the Condors. The friendship they develop is profound, and the relationship they build is strong and beautifully supportive. All mixed in with some delicious steam. The audiobook is narrated by Darcy Stark, and he does and excellent job with it. He really brings the story alive and captures the characters and tone of the story perfectly. PLAYING FOR KEEPS Miami Piranhas - Book One by Beth Bolden Release Date: May 11, 2022 Audio Release Date: May 17, 2023 Review I was excited to listen to Playing for Keeps which was recently released in audiobook, and I wasn’t disappointed.  This is sweet, sexy and wonderful low-angst (but not fluffy). A forbidden romance between the coach’s assistant/son, and a star quarterback. Beau’s on a mission to convince Sebastian that it’s time to change positions. Not something he’s eager to do. It becomes a battle of wills that ends up bringing these two together.   There’s a lot of tension brewing besides the work conflict, like the sexual tension, and the fact that Sebastian isn’t out. But these two have a really sweet bond that helps them through it all. I was cheering these two on, and I’ll continue to cheer for this whole team of underdogs. Review: If you like over-the-top bratty, flirty types that blurt out whatever they are thinking then this is perfect for you. A light, happy, college-age romance with lots of banter and button-pushing. I don’t love that type of character, so Ollie isn’t my favourite, but it has nothing to do with the writing, the story is cute and fun and flows well. I do like Graham, slightly awkward, geeky, but steady and loving. He is my type. And I enjoyed the way they embraced each other's characters and love one another for it, not trying to change them. So if you find yourself drawn to those types of stories and characters then I have no doubt that you will really enjoy this story.
