Blog Tour, Excerpt & Giveaway: A Fall of Light By L.J. Greene LJ Greene brings to life one of her most compelling characters: the intensely creative bass guitarist, Greg Van de Meer. A Fall of Light weaves together the strands of Greg’s private and public lives—a shattering personal history, a love affair with potentially disastrous consequences, and family bonds that are stretched to their breaking point. It’s been fifteen years since Greg was outed by his fundamentalist father at age sixteen and sent from home, with devastating consequences for both he and his younger brother, Asher. Now unlaid ghosts from the past are stirring. With his band’s success on the world stage, Greg’s life takes a complicated turn when he develops a friendship with Louis Angel, an ex-Marine with a secret of his own, and finds himself facing familiar threats from an unexpected source. Strained loyalties, a private affair, and Greg’s own guarded history collide dangerously until a visit from an old ...

REVIEW: The Lost Fiance Twist by Ana Ashley (Spencer Brothers #1)

Image
THE LOST FIANCE TWIST Spencer Brothers - Book One by Ana Ashley Release Date: October 27, 2023 Review It's such a cute second-chance romance with a fresh and light take on the amnesia trope. What happens when the person you loved no longer remembers you or your relationship?  As Lex tries to find out what happened with Emery, they really end up dating ‘again’. While to Emery everything is a first, Lex is both reliving the past and getting to know Emery all over again. But at the core of it all is the spark that has always been between these two. And in truth, this second chance is even better than the first time. It’s beautiful and sweet, though there also uncomfy moments with Lex keeping the past a secret and Emery’s mother being a little creepy and toxic. But it’s also offset beautifully with the fantastic side characters. Lex’s close Portuguese family, especially his brothers, who will get their own books, Ren, Frederic and of course Emery’s BFF.  All the quirky mome...

REVIEW: Whiskey Nights and Neon Dreams by Ashley James

WHISKEY NIGHTS AND NEON DREAMS by Ashley James Release Date: October 27, 2023 Review I…wow. Well, that was emotionally exhausting! (in the best possible way). And such an incredibly crafted story that had me so wrapped up that I didn’t realize how much time had passed and that I should really go to sleep (spoiler alert - I didn’t until the story was over!). I’m not even sure where to begin, but to say, if you like gritty, raw & flawed men who definitely don’t get an easy path to love…then you will fall hard for this story. I think this quote really sums up the whole story.  “Josiah and I are two black sheep, drowning in our grief, plagued by trauma, both desperate for reprieve. And in this moment, we can be that for each other.” Expect they are so much more than a reprieve. These two men who deserved so much more in life, from family and from friends, finally got everything I could want for them. Love, happiness, safety.  Whiskey Nights and Neon Dreams has definitel...

RELEASE BLITZ: Whiskey Nights & Neon Dreams by Ashley James

Image
Release Date: October 27 The memory of Josiah DeMille has haunted me for close to a decade.  The way he looked. The way he smelled. The way his lips felt pressed against mine, even when they shouldn’t have been.   The one person I’ve never been able to get over. The one singular part of my past I’ve never been able to move on from.   In every lyric sung into the microphone, in every chord strummed on the guitar, in the bottom of every single whiskey bottle, he’s there.  His memory has me in a chokehold.  His absence a gaping hole in my chest.  I gave up years ago wondering if I’d ever stop thinking about him.   Josiah DeMille is the ghost of my past. A past I left behind after my rock bottom.    Now he’s back, and he’s everything I remember him to be and more.  As mesmerizing as ever, a malt perfectly aged in an oak barrel.   But there are dark secrets and shameful lies between us, blurred lines, and an underlying tempta...

REVIEW: Less Than Three by EM Lindsey (Running in Circles #4)

Image
LESS THAN THREE Running In Circles - Book Three by EM Lindsey Release Date: October 26, 2023 Review This isn’t just a slow burn, it’s more like they took the long way around! But boy was it worth it. Raphael was probably my favourite side character from the previous book State of Mind. He’s got a fantastic dry sarcastic sense of humour and he keeps his circle small. The circle now includes Dimitri.  Dimitri is a lovely twenty-something who has always felt a little on the outside. On the outside of his family. On the outside of the town. But he is loyal and still holds a quiet desire to find people who want to claim him. It’s how the friendship between these two begins. A quiet step forward in finding someone who gets them. Both of them looking for someone who will like/love them wholly as they are. Raphael who has cerebral palsy and seizures, and Dimitri, adopted and also discovering and processing his asexuality.  They’ve both had their fair share of being othered. Of ...
