Review
A fun story with a sweet, almost soft romance. Two men trying to figure themselves and their futures out, finding someone to share the journey with.
A small town, magic shifter romance, where August and Charlie both feel like they don’t quite fit. But time, proximity, and a mission to protect the town, these two find love and warmth.
I look forward to catching up on other stories in this series. They feel warm, cozy, with a hint of adventure.

Synopsis
Some secrets keep you alive. Others can get you killed.
After nearly twenty years away, August North is heading back to the small Alaskan town he once couldn’t wait to escape. His pro‑sports career is over—ended by an injury even a polar‑bear shifter can’t heal—and the secrets he carried back then still sting: no one knew he was a shifter…or that he was gay. He doesn’t know if Claw Lake is home anymore, but he needs the wilderness in his blood again, even if staying means facing everything he ran from.
Charlie Quinlan came to Claw Lake for a job—but not the one the townsfolk think. Yes, he’s the new librarian. No, that’s not why the Coven sent him. Charlie’s dangerous, unpredictable magic has always made him an outsider, and now it’s the reason he’s stationed here as the first line of defense if anything escapes the nearby paranormal prison.
When the weather turns, and magic stirs up trouble in the wilds, August and Charlie are pulled together by instinct, magic, and a spark that refuses to die. Two outsiders. One tight‑knit, mostly paranormal town. And a fated‑mate bond neither of them wants.
In Claw Lake, the nights are cold, the chemistry is hot, and belonging is something you choose.
Book 13 in the MM fated mates shifter romance series.
