Review

Despite some of the serious topics in this story, and the grumpy annoyance they start with, there’s a lightness to it, or maybe hope.  It’s a great combination.


Easton and Rune seem to be oil and water in the beginning, but that’s mostly due to Rune’s mile-high walls (for good reason).


A near tragedy forces them to interact and spend some time together.  It helps too that Easton both overcame some trauma to help Rune’s son Elio, but also treats Elio like he’s ‘normal’.


Easton is an amazing man with tender soft spots, but also full of joy and fun, which is an especially great counterpoint to Rune’s bruised heart.

Synopsis

That’s it. My co-worker has to die. There’s no other way around it. If I have to spend one more day cleaning up his mess—no matter how good he makes the mess look—I’m going to lose it.


My life is complicated enough with a soon-to-be ex-husband who won’t accept the marriage is over, a medically complex son, and a job I can’t seem to get away from. I really don’t need to keep nurturing this crush on the very obnoxious, very good looking, very straight firefighter.

  RESTING BEACH FACE Swallow Cove - Book Four by DJ Jamison Release Date: February 20, 2025 Review Declan is so beautiful. Quiet, a little grumpy, a little withdrawn, and maybe a little lost and lonely. Then there’s Cash - outgoing, sexual, and completely obsessed with Declan.  It’s a slow burn. One that requires both of them to shift their understanding of each other, and time to truly learn and understand both themselves and the other. I love both the trajectory of the relationship as well as the life and home they build.  It’s a truly wonderful pairing that may be my favourite in the series. Sure I see a bit of myself in Declan, but I also just adore the way Cash grew and how they balanced each other.   THE CURIOUS MOUNTAIN MAN Movin’ to the Mountains - Book Two by Casey Cox Release Date: December 13, 2023 Review I’m really loving this novella series about 3 brothers, all drooly-worthy mountain men. They are quick reads, but all the romance & sexiness we love in a story. Now, I think Branum may be my favourite so far.  I’m pretty much putty for the sexy man who’s successful in business but still willing to try for something that makes him feel vulnerable. And he’s a sweetheart.  He tries to be all romantic like the books PJ reads, and it’s absolutely heart-melting to picture the large, built man being all sweet and wooing for this man. Picturing him in the lake naked also helps my assessment of him too and really makes me want to take up birdwatching. And PJ is a lovely human being who deserves all the love and care Branum will bestow on him.  They are a sweet couple to picture.  I’m intrigued to get to know that oldest brother.
