This is lovable goodness.


Ross and Dan are really good guys, the kind you don’t hesitate to root for. After years apart these two are back in each other’s lives building their friendship and each pretending they don’t have feelings for the other.


We also get some excitement thanks to nature and her destruction. It was exciting (and a good reminder of the damage of global warming). 


Great story.

Synopsis

It’s a tale as old as time.


I’ve crushed on my brother’s best friend since I sprouted hairs on the unmentionables. Once upon a time, he was straight, until he wasn’t… and talk about bad timing.


And when we’re finally at a place for me to make my move, sexy rural firefighter Dan clams up and acts weird and I’m left with pants that are too tight and my heart feeling bruised… but he’s a good friend and I’m grateful he’s in my life.

I just know that when the stakes are high and emotions are running wild, sometimes you have to show your hand and go all in.


And that’s exactly what I plan to do.


High Alert was originally a 7,000-word short story in the March 2020 charity anthology "When the Smoke Clears." It is now a 64,000-word full-length novel, complete with smouldering low-angst loveliness and a group of Aussie men who will capture your hearts.

Quiet, a little grumpy, a little withdrawn, and maybe a little lost and lonely. Then there’s Cash - outgoing, sexual, and completely obsessed with Declan.  It’s a slow burn. One that requires both of them to shift their understanding of each other, and time to truly learn and understand both themselves and the other. I love both the trajectory of the relationship as well as the life and home they build.  It’s a truly wonderful pairing that may be my favourite in the series. Sure I see a bit of myself in Declan, but I also just adore the way Cash grew and how they balanced each other.   THE CURIOUS MOUNTAIN MAN Movin’ to the Mountains - Book Two by Casey Cox Release Date: December 13, 2023 Review I’m really loving this novella series about 3 brothers, all drooly-worthy mountain men. They are quick reads, but all the romance & sexiness we love in a story. Now, I think Branum may be my favourite so far.  I’m pretty much putty for the sexy man who’s successful in business but still willing to try for something that makes him feel vulnerable. And he’s a sweetheart.  He tries to be all romantic like the books PJ reads, and it’s absolutely heart-melting to picture the large, built man being all sweet and wooing for this man. Picturing him in the lake naked also helps my assessment of him too and really makes me want to take up birdwatching. And PJ is a lovely human being who deserves all the love and care Branum will bestow on him.  They are a sweet couple to picture.  I’m intrigued to get to know that oldest brother.
