Review

A lot of fun, and I always enjoy getting more glimpses of Piedras Island and West Coast Forensics. And I’m tickled thinking about what kind of revenge Ethan will get on Ryder.


Ethan definitely absolutely does not want to go away for a murder weekend. And he’s feeling pretty murderous himself when he discovers his ex is there too. Ethan is a grumpy fella, but he’s also hiding behind it.


But Jordan is feeling determined.


It’s a short story, but it was a good time, and the fact that it was a second chance reunion, you didn’t feel like it was rushed.

Synopsis

Ethan Moore said yes when he should’ve said no.


Now he’s committed to a weekend at a remote luxury hotel--a murder weekend, if you will. The only person on Ethan’s murder-list is his coworker who caught him unawares with this over-the-top shenanigan. Oh, and the man who broke his heart years ago, who just so happens to be his co-detective for the event.


If Jordan Ferguson thinks Ethan has forgiven and forgotten, he is wildly incorrect. Can two broken hearts meet again and maybe get it right this time?


Real Chance is novella set in the West Coast Forensics and Veiled Intentions universe, it may be read as a standalone but why not read all of them?

Quiet, a little grumpy, a little withdrawn, and maybe a little lost and lonely. Then there’s Cash - outgoing, sexual, and completely obsessed with Declan.  It’s a slow burn. One that requires both of them to shift their understanding of each other, and time to truly learn and understand both themselves and the other. I love both the trajectory of the relationship as well as the life and home they build.  It’s a truly wonderful pairing that may be my favourite in the series. Sure I see a bit of myself in Declan, but I also just adore the way Cash grew and how they balanced each other. Fenton Release Date: August 5, 2025 Review I wish there were more mystery romances out there.  I love the mystery-solving, both the entertainment value of the cases, but also as a plot point to a developing relationship. And Declan and Charlie are a dynamic duo. They have great banter, but are also caring people. Book three, and Declan and Charlie are still finding their way as boyfriends and colleagues, but it’s clear they could be amazing. And now Charlie is learning to become a detective, too. They each take on a case, but before long, they find their cases connecting. Which is perfect, because they do their best work together.
