REVIEW: Sweet Devotion by Riley Hart (Sins of the Father #4)

SWEET DEVOTION

Sins of the Father - Book Four

by Riley Hart

Release Date: July 15, 2026

Review

It was great to get the story for the sister of this family-based series. Aislin is of the family, and tight with her ‘siblings’, but she’s not entirely a part of the family. And when she starts dating an amazing woman, she worries that any involvement with her family might scare Zuri away.

But don’t underestimate Zuri. She’s strong, smart, and resilient.

It’s a quick read, but a great addition and worth the time.

Synopsis

When I first laid eyes on Zuri Alexander, I knew she was mine.

And becoming more than friends was just as easy as breathing.

But she doesn’t know my secrets. There’s a dark side to the family business. So, I lie to her to cover it up.

I know she can feel the wall building between us, and I want nothing more than to tear it down…but the only way to do that is to share my truth with her.

That the girl she’s dating is involved in organized crime.

But when Zuri becomes a target of what appears to be some red pill incel, I know we’re the only ones who can keep her safe.

I just hope she can trust me one last time.

Because my devotion to her means there is nothing I won’t do to protect her.

Sweet Devotion is a 24k-word novella that contains violence, an attempted abduction, misogyny, sl*t shaming, and discussion of losing parents.

About Riley Hart

Riley Hart has always been known as the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. She won her first writing contest in elementary school, and although she primarily focuses on male/male romance, under her various pen names, she’s written a little bit of everything. Regardless of the sub-genre, there’s always one common theme and that’s…romance! No surprise seeing as she’s a hopeless romantic herself. Riley’s a lover of character-driven plots, flawed characters, and always tries to write stories and characters people can relate to. She believes everyone deserves to see themselves in the books they read. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her reading or enjoying time with her awesome family in their home in North Carolina.
