JJ Harper writes really beautiful and emotional stories full of pain, longing, fresh starts and love.

Trent’s parents are hateful, petty, and cruel people. When Trent has finally had enough, he heads to Calston Cove to reconnect with his brother-in-law and niece, and figure out what he truly wants from life. Leaving behind his parents and his toxic ex, he finds a warm welcome and a flirty, gorgeous landscaper.

They make a really sweet pair. Merlin is a lovely human being, and he’s falling hard for the man who may not be staying.

I enjoyed their journey, Trent learning to shake the people who treated him badly, and building a life of love and passion.

I love this series, and I especially loved seeing Merrick and his little family again.

Note to Self

Ever since his brother Josh died, Trent’s parents have been obsessed with him getting a wife and providing them with grandchildren. That they turned their backs on Josh’s daughter, Willow, still hurts Trent. With a statement that closed the door on his life with his parents’ bullying, and the end of a useless relationship, Trent heads down to Calston Cove, where his brother-in-law Merrick and his daughter have settled after Josh’s death.

Note to Self is the last book in the Calston Cove series. You can read it as a standalone, but you’ll enjoy it more when you’ve read the other three books. You can expect an instant attraction, but a hesitancy to trust not just the handsome man, but to believe his heart. Merlin will accept nothing but a happy ending.
