Review

May excels at a kind of over-the-top, quirky, but loving town and families, and Beckett, Griffin, and the town of Winsome definitely live up to it.


City boy Griffin’s career goes up in flames, but he’s thrown a lifeline in the form of a cabin in Vermont. The man who left it to him as a chaotic free spirit type, so it’s no wonder the cabin - er, treehouse, brings with it some drama. 


Drama in the form of a grump, overworked, ‘carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders’, real-life lumberjack, by the name of Beckett.


Sparks fly, lines are drawn, rackets are thrown, but somewhere along the line, they discover the real man on the other side of the easement.


And they discover city and flannel can mix!

After a viral PR disaster torpedoes my marketing career, I flee Manhattan. The only place left to land? A fairy-tale treehouse in a pickle-obsessed Vermont town, left to me by an uncle I barely knew.

Yes, I said pickles.

No, I’m not okay.

But I’m only here temporarily. Just long enough to regroup, let the notoriety die down, and figure out my next steps in peace.

Unfortunately, my new neighbor has other ideas.

Beckett “the Axe” Axford–cranky local heartthrob and unapologetic tree-murderer–claims Uncle Jim made him promises about the forest around the treehouse, and he’s none too pleased when I won’t take his word for it.

Unfortunately for him, I’m done playing by other people’s rules. I’m not backing down just because some sexy–I mean grumpy–lumberjack says so, and I can handle whatever he dishes out.

Tree climbing? No problem.

Pickle festival popularity contest? Sign me up.

Kissing my unexpectedly-tender, flannel-clad nemesis in the woods after dark? I can take it, bro. And take it. And t– Ahem. You get the picture.

I’m tired of losing, so I’m not giving up my inheritance or my heart without a fight.

  RESTING BEACH FACE Swallow Cove - Book Four by DJ Jamison Release Date: February 20, 2025 Review Declan is so beautiful. Quiet, a little grumpy, a little withdrawn, and maybe a little lost and lonely. Then there’s Cash - outgoing, sexual, and completely obsessed with Declan.  It’s a slow burn. One that requires both of them to shift their understanding of each other, and time to truly learn and understand both themselves and the other. I love both the trajectory of the relationship as well as the life and home they build.  It’s a truly wonderful pairing that may be my favourite in the series. Sure I see a bit of myself in Declan, but I also just adore the way Cash grew and how they balanced each other. Fenton Release Date: August 5, 2025 Review I wish there were more mystery romances out there.  I love the mystery-solving, both the entertainment value of the cases, but also as a plot point to a developing relationship. And Declan and Charlie are a dynamic duo. They have great banter, but are also caring people. Book three, and Declan and Charlie are still finding their way as boyfriends and colleagues, but it’s clear they could be amazing. And now Charlie is learning to become a detective, too. They each take on a case, but before long, they find their cases connecting. Which is perfect, because they do their best work together.
