REVIEW: A Fatal Autumnal Stew by Dahlia Donovan (The Skeleton Crew Paranormal Cozy #2)

A FATAL AUTUMNAL STEW

The Skeleton Crew Paranormal Cozy Series - Book Two

by Dahlia Donovan

Release Date: November 27, 2024

Review

I’m completely in love with Dahalia’s cozy style of romance, and this paranormal mystery series is super adorable.

Set in a small town that acts as a kind of haven for rejected or ostracized people/supernatural.

Hyde and Teresa are pretty cute, especially now that they're dating, but they can’t seem to keep out of a mystery. Whether they like it or not, they keep getting pulled in.

It’s a great cast of characters, a variety of vampires, witches, druids and more, with small-town personalities. Where everyone knows everything that’s happened moments later, but will also have your back.  Especially Hyde, the townfolk love them.

Can’t wait to see what else this cute couple gets embroiled in.

Synopsis

Welcome back to the Skeleton Crew. Keep your knitting needles sharp and have a strong brew in hand for their next adventure.

Life for gender-fluid, autistic vampire Hyde Snodgrass has never been better. Her cosy village bookshop is thriving as is their new relationship with witch and taco bus owner, Teresa Vega. Autumn is in full magical tilt in their corner of the Scottish Highlands.

Everything is beautifully perfect right up until a tainted meal ends with Hyde sick and someone dead.

The police immediately suspect the restaurant owners. Hyde and Teresa find themselves drawn into yet another investigation, trying to save their friends from arrest and themselves from a murderer. The situation becomes even more complex when family feuds become tangled in the midst.

Can they find the killer?

Or will everything Hyde loves go up in flames?

About Dahlia Donovan

Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress.  Dahlia is an autistic who prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters.  She has found great happiness with her husband, her tiny dog Bacon, and her collection of books and video games.

Dahlia has worked over the years as a teacher, insurance adjuster, and even had a brief stint as the pianist in a band–very brief, like three weeks. She uses her experiences over the years travelling around the world and working to add spice to her stories.

An adoptee, TCK (third culture kid) and survivor of childhood abuse, Dahlia uses a pen name to avoid her technically unsavvy adoptive family. Her story is all her own, though.

She’s proud to be a survivor, a writer, and one of the odd ones.

She hopes one day to write about her experiences.

She is currently obsessed with Destiny 2, the Mass Effect world, books, the ukulele, rugby, tea, and attractive men.
