Review

My first by Davidson King and a 1000% NOT my last! I was completely engrossed by the story, helped also by the narration of Philip Alces (my recent obsession) and Joel Leslie (a long-standing obsession).

Everything about it was wonderful - the main characters, the secondary characters, the world-building, the dialogue. I loved it all.

Snow was everything. This young man has been through so much, and yet he remains such a wonderfully kind and compassionate human being. Living in the shadows, surviving day to day. He’s a fighter. You’ll cry for him and smile with him.

Christopher - A feared crime boss with a soft centre for his nephew, and now Snow. I love a hard man, criminal and killer, who’s soft on someone.

“You keep the darkness away. I’d give you anything.”

It was a great narrative, action-packed, emotional and so loving.
