REVIEW: A Curse for Samhain by Dahlia Donovan (The Skeleton Crew Paranormal Cozy Series #1)
A CURSE FOR SAMHAIN
The Skeleton Crew Paranormal Cozy Series - Book One

Release Date: August 8, 2024
Review
I adore Dahlia’s cozy British style of writing. It’s the kind of stories that beg cozy pyjamas, reading socxs, and a cuppa tea. And this FF(mx) paranormal mystery romance was downright lovely.
Set in a small town that is a haven to all manner of mysterious and paranormal beings, many of whom are in need of a found family. The support and love for one another is heartwarming. As is the romance blooming between our bookstore-owning vampire and their Taco truck-owning witch.
It’s such a lovely and tender friendship and together they help to figure out what is happening in the village. Along the way, we get to meet their friends and neighbours.
Truly Dahlia is a wonderful author, and I’m so excited to get the rest of this series.

Synopsis
Welcome to the Skeleton Crew. Bring your knitting needles and a good, strong brew.
Gender fluid, autistic vampire Hyde Snodgrass runs Between the Leaves—a cosy village book store. Their life revolves around books, all things autumnal, and the two cats who rule their world. The shop also plays host to a weekly knitting group called the Skeleton Crew.
When one of the leaders of the village coven fails to show up for the weekly knitting meeting, Hyde finds themselves investigating a horrific murder side by side with their long-term crush, Teresa Vega.
Suspicion immediately falls on other members of their group. Hyde and Teresa struggle to find answers to the growing list of questions. It’s made all the more difficult when the killer has them in their sights.
Can working together spark the romantic flame within them?
Will they solve the mystery before death comes too close?
About Dahlia Donovan
Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress. Dahlia is an autistic who prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters. She has found great happiness with her husband, her tiny dog Bacon, and her collection of books and video games.
Dahlia has worked over the years as a teacher, insurance adjuster, and even had a brief stint as the pianist in a band–very brief, like three weeks. She uses her experiences over the years travelling around the world and working to add spice to her stories.
An adoptee, TCK (third culture kid) and survivor of childhood abuse, Dahlia uses a pen name to avoid her technically unsavvy adoptive family. Her story is all her own, though.
She’s proud to be a survivor, a writer, and one of the odd ones.
She hopes one day to write about her experiences.
She is currently obsessed with Destiny 2, the Mass Effect world, books, the ukulele, rugby, tea, and attractive men.
