Garrett loves to make her men complicated and utterly human and make them work for their happiness. And these men from such different backgrounds, and living in such different worlds make a fascinating pair that just seem to work.

Isha is a man trying to change his life. Trying to be more present in his children’s lives, but he struggles with coming out. Sometimes something becomes so much a part of us, that even if you know it’ll be fine to admit the truth, you just can’t let go of the lie. Even when there is someone who would make it worth it. So hard to witness his struggle. The push and pull between the lie and Jude.

And Jude. He’s just a guy, living life day to day. Until there’s something more on the line. He tries to believe it can be just a hookup, until he can’t deny how he’s feeling anymore.

Chemistry definitely isn’t an issue with these two. But getting out of their own way is. It makes the end all the more satisfying when they get there.

Narrator Shaun Grindell deftly handles this fantastic story, with such a great understanding of the characters and the style.

Synopsis

City boy Isha is gorgeous, and when he starts to haunt Jude’s reptile shop as well as the hook-up app on his phone, he's a welcome distraction from Jude’s business problems.

For a control freak like Isha, letting Jude under his skin is an existential meltdown, but Jude’s not in the market to be anyone’s queer crisis, not when he’s facing troubles of his own. Unlocking their lives could push both men apart forever, but it might be a risk worth taking if sharing is the key to their happy future.

Garrett Leigh is an award-winning British writer, cover artist, and book designer. Her debut novel, Slide, won Best Bisexual Debut at the 2014 Rainbow Book Awards, and her polyamorous novel, Misfits was a finalist in the 2016 LAMBDA awards, and was again a finalist in 2017 with Rented Heart.

In 2017, she won the EPIC award in contemporary romance with her military novel, Between Ghosts, and the contemporary romance category in the Bisexual Book Awards with her novel What Remains.

When not writing, Garrett can generally be found procrastinating on Twitter, cooking up a storm, or sitting on her behind doing as little as possible, all the while shouting at her menagerie of children and animals and attempting to tame her unruly and wonderful FOX.
