What worked: Everything!

What didn’t work: Nothing!!

I will be forever sad that we’ve left Heather Bay, but I’ll grasp onto the little hope that they will make cameos as they have here.

There’s no way you won’t fall for Rory/Bubblegum Galaxy. He and She are incredibly kind and spirited and they bring some sparkle wherever they go. You’ll also want his family all three of them were fantastic.

West, is an absolute marshmallow of a man, a professional rugby player with the sweetest disposition. He’s relatively newly out as bi-sexual and he’s still finding his way in his identity, but he has one BFF in particular who is determined to keep him out of the closet. Their friendship makes me gleeful.

Rory and West work so well together. They are fun and playful and all kinds of perfect. West is the most genuinely kind man ever and makes Rory feel seen and valued. They also melt more than a few pages.

I also love the message within it, the debate between standing your ground or not making waves when it comes to injustice. Along with never judging someone else based on your own experiences. It was beautifully tackled with such humour and kindness.

I think Charlie has brought us another winner of a series with some really fantastic characters to come.

Synopsis

Note to self: dumping cocktails into a man’s lap does not count as a meet cute.

Accidentally throwing a jug of Sex on the Beach onto the hottest guy at drag brunch was not how I wanted to start my performance, and forgetting to ask for his name was the cherry on top.

But when he finds me online and invites me out for drinks, it seems like my chaotic shenanigans might have worked out for once. Falling into bed with West is easy, but balancing a gorgeous, rugby player boyfriend with a day job and drag is harder than dancing in eight inch heels.

And when my participation in a local drag story hour draws the ire of certain locals, it feels like everything might fall apart. West doesn’t understand why I won’t step down, but I’ve never been afraid of being myself.

Now I just need West to stand beside me. Because he’s the only man who’s ever loved me as Rory and Bubblegum Galaxy, and I won’t let that slip away.

You can call me a drama queen, but you’ll never dull my sparkle.

About Charlie Novak

Charlie lives in England with her husband and a dachshund named Biscuit. She spends most of her days wrangling other people’s words in her day job and then trying to force her own onto the page in the evening.

She loves cute stories with a healthy dollop of fluff, plenty of delicious sex, and happily ever afters – because the world needs more of them. Charlie also believes that love comes in all shapes and sizes.

Charlie has very little spare time, but what she does have she fills with cooking, pole-dancing, reading and ice-hockey. She also thinks that everyone should have at least one favourite dinosaur…
