Another neat short story by Nico Flynn. How to tell if someone is in love with their roommate. Look at the photos on their camera!
All it takes is a good razing from his friends for Chase to realize he may have a thing for his roommate and best friend Noah. But how do you subtly find out if they may have a thing for you too?
This is a snippet of time, so you don’t really get their backstory, but it’s not necessary to get a feel for how close they are, and it was fun to see the moments when they finally figure out their feelings.
I enjoy Nico’s short stories a lot. Looking forward to what comes next.

Synopsis
Never let anyone see the photos on your phone…
When his friends steal his phone at the bar and start flipping through his photos, Chase Cooper is mildly annoyed. When they point out that his phone is filled with nothing but photos of Noah, his best friend and roommate, there’s nothing mild about the panic that follows.
Sure, he’d hooked up with a fellow male soldier a few times overseas, but it was just tension relief. He’s not actually bi. It was just convenient. It doesn’t mean he’s in love with his roommate. Right?
But once the idea is there, he can’t shake it. Chase is desperate to get a look at Noah’s photos… but will they show the same thing, or will Chase be stuck living five feet away from someone he can never have?
In the Picture is an 11,000-word M/M romantic novella featuring roommates-to-lovers, friends-to-lovers, ex-soldiers, a nerdy forensics grad student, secret bisexual history, and a super steamy first time when it all finally boils over. All books in the Army Awakenings series can be read as standalones and in any order.
About Nico Flynn
Nico Flynn is all about stories that are heartwarming and steamy in equal measure, always with a healthy dose of humor. Bring on the snappy banter, mutual pining, and well-earned happy endings!
Nico lives a wild life out in the country with too many dogs, a family, video games, and a whole lot of books. If new releases suddenly stop, you can assume Nico was swallowed up by an out-of-control tomato plant or eaten by a bear.
After years of writing across age groups and genres in the traditional publishing arena, Nico is thrilled (and terrified) to finally be taking this first step on the indie side. It’s a wide and wonderful world out here!
