Review

I really enjoyed this short story.

One night changes everything. Mason and Boone have been pining for each other for a long time, but Mason is best friends with Boone’s older brother, and he was warned off of dating Boone.

But Boone shows up at his door one night after having a crappy day, and while he seemingly just wants a fun night to cheer himself up, he’s also ready to prove to Mason he wants more.

It was a fun and sweet beginning of a happy ever after.

Synopsis

It’s Friday night and Mason is content to stay home with his dog instead of going out in a raging thunderstorm. He wasn’t in the mood for the bars, anyway. Not when he was pining for his best friend’s brother, Boone. Who was off-limits -- no matter what his heart wanted.

When the doorbell rings, he’s shocked to find the man of his dreams on his front porch. Boone’s had a rotten day and is looking to have fun, but will he be able to convince Mason he wants to be more than a friend?

About the Author

Sarah Hadley Brook lives smack-dab in the middle of the Heartland and is the mother of two wonderful young men, as well as two cats. During the day, she works in the nonprofit world, but reserves evenings for her hobby-turned-passion of writing, letting the characters she conjures up in her mind take the lead and show her where the story will go. When not working or writing, she can be found reading, working on dollhouses, trying her hand at new recipes, or watching old movies and musicals. In her ideal world, Christmas would come at least twice a year, Rock Hudson and Doris Day would have co-starred in more than three movies, and chocolate would be a daily necessity to live. She dreams of traveling to Scotland some day and visiting the places her ancestors lived. Sarah believes in “Happily Ever After” and strives to ensure her characters find their own happiness in love and life.
