ANTHOLOGY REVIEW: Cruising: An MM Anthology
Review:
This is such a great series. Probably one of the best that I’ve read. It has a really great variety of authors, styles and tropes. Insta-love, kink, musicians, daddies, light, dark, it’s really got it all. It was a mix of authors I’m familiar with and some I wasn’t, so I’m looking forward to adding a few new books to my TBR.
This was such a perfect summer read. I suggest you grab your kindle, a sun hat, and your favourite chair and head outside, and dig into this one.
4.5 sunny stars
What Happens in Niagara Falls by LD Blakeley
A playful and seductive story of two co-workers who seem like they would be complete opposites, and yet, thanks to a room assignment mishap, they may find that they end up more than just colleagues.
Two really likable guys, one a little grumpy, the other a little sunshiny, but both are really sweet. And it was cute and fun as they explored the sites and the cruise ship, flirting and getting to know one another.
Definitely a great 1st story in this anthology
Til Dock Do Us Part by Michaela Cole
This starts dark and edgy, and a little heart pumping. But this MMM romance is also funny and sweet. A rockstar, his grumpy bodyguard, and a heartbroken cutey find themselves entangled on a cruise.
Together they find that sometimes three’s company and you just have to live life on your own terms.
The Devil Wears Pink by Matthew Dante
This was an unexpected twist on a meet-cute. I pretty much hung on every word in order to find out where this story was going to take us. It was definitely a ride, but it didn’t disappoint in the end. The tension was high, but so was the romance!
All Hands on Deck by Jeris Jean
Two best friends have lost touch until their parents collude to bring the families together for a cruise. When a bombshell is dropped Mateo and Colby find themselves thrown together for the week. Where they might just find it isn’t only the weather that’s hot.
I really enjoy Jeris’ writing style, and definitely enjoyed this fun and sexy story of these two reconnecting on the Caribbean seas. Mateo is really super sweet. He’s also steady and patient. Colby is a bit destructive and wild. But they say opposites attract, so here’s to some smooth sailing
Help Me, Zaddy by S. Legend
This was my first introduction to S. Legend. I really liked this story. I love Daddy/Dom stories, particularly ones that focus on caring and discipline. I mean, spanking, hello! I also enjoyed the quirky meet-cute these two had. The story was sweet, fun, and hot in equal measure.
My only niggle is that it played off another book, so there were times I wasn’t sure what they were referring to. It still works on its own, but it took me out of the story at times as I tried to figure some things out.
Tricked at See by Duckie Mack
Totally on point for a Duckie Mack story. Completely heartwarming, romantic, and swoon-worthy. I loved how much you could feel the history and love between these two. BFFs to lovers with a dose of forced proximity to make you smile and feel good.
My (Un)Lucky Charm by Garry Michael
This was hot, like straight out of the gate hot! It’s got some heartbreak, adventure (and misadventure), and a lot of love. These two are really fun, and I love how they both comfort the other at various times. Also, great to see some Asian rep. Love that. Need more of that.
The Butler by Michael Robert
Mmm, well that was steamy and delicious. And surprisingly felt like a full novel. It had all the components. Backstory, the get to know you, the angst, the declaration of love. So good. Such a great employee/boss, billionaire/regular guy story.
Making Waves by Harper Robson
You may think you know each other, but spending a week on a cruise, sharing a room and a bed will test that theory. A kinda-friends to lovers, trust fund baby/regular guy story that will make you smile and will warm your heart.
