HOW TO SURVIVE A SUMMONING by Nikole Knight Release Date: November 24, 2023 Audio Release Date: July 9, 2024 Review How to Survive a Summoning is a lively and very fun story between a human and a kind of adorable demon. It’s a bit of Cinderella meets Clueless. Jamie gets into trouble doing some work for his evil warlock he’s bound to and summons Lyn to help him out of a jam. Now they’ve got to avoid police and the warlock, while also fighting fate. It was a terrific short story and was quite enjoyable as an audiobook.  Narrator Nick Newport really captures the characters and the vibe. REVIEW: Sugar by EM Lindsey (The Beginning of Always #3)

Image
SUGAR The Beginning of Always - Book Three by EM Lindsey Release Date: July 26, 2024 Review This is another emotional and gorgeous story by EM Lindsey. A crush and a confession bring these two together for an epic romance.  Juno confesses his recent diagnosis of losing his sight to the cute older man who frequents his bakery stall. Piper may not understand his specific diagnosis, but he does understand what it means to have his health turn his world upside down. A tentative friendship is formed, which turns to a casual fling that was never really casual, and a road trip to remember. It’s not just Juno losing his sight, or Piper recovering from his heart condition, it’s also their pasts that continue to influence their lives and in many ways is the biggest hurdle to their finding forever love. This is an extremely emotionally satisfying read with such a bright future. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis If Juno could describe his life in three ways, it would be: A li...

REVIEW: Twincerely Yours by Eden Finley (Franklin U 2 #8)

Image
TWINCERELY YOURS Franklin U 2 - Book Eight by Eden Finley Release Date: July 26, 2024 Review Codependent and slightly sociopathic twins who desperately need therapy. The premise is entertaining - Emmett had been impersonating his twin in Jonah’s class. When they meet after and external to the school a tenuous relationship is built. Attraction is never in question between them.  Except it is built on lies.  There’s a lot of drama and push and pull between them. There’s also a lot of self-actualization, by both, but especially Emmett, which was lovely. And though there is a strength to their bond, I wouldn’t describe it as swoony. It’s hard-earned and definitely requires them to choose love and trust every day. I adore the Dalton family, especially older brothers West and Asher (who have their own stories). They’ve all had a hard time of it, but the bond of family has always won out, and they’ve all found partners that make them stronger. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LI...
