REVIEW: Brim Over Boot by Emmy Sanders (The Darling Brothers #2)

Image
BRIM OVER BOOT The Darling Brothers - Book Two by Emmy Sanders Release Date: May 22, 2025 Review First off - gah! That cover! Second - Emmy is a masterful storyteller.  Her characters are always so complex and fascinating, and their journeys are emotional and gorgeous. Colton and Noah have so many sparks flying that they could burn a barn down. And the tension between them makes for a perfect slow burn. Two competing farriers who can’t stand each other and seem to stubbornly refuse to believe anything but the worst. But we all know how the line between love and hate goes…kaboom! But it’s not only fiery tension but also sweet, emotional, and healing. The relationship that they ultimately build is stunning.  These two may even come close to the love I have for Wyatt and Easton in Fool Hearts, and I truly adore them! REVIEW: Zero Pucks by EM Lindsey (Punk as Puck #1)

ZERO PUCKS Punk as Puck - Book One by EM Lindsey Release Date: May 20, 2025 Review Oh my, I love this EM Lindsey rom-com. On the lighter side of EM’s work, there was a lot of humour, some incredible swooning, but still their quintessential touching back story. Waking up in Vegas, missing your legs is certainly one heck of a way to start a story! What follows is a unique take on the waking up married in Vegas trope. With two men who could definitely use a fresh start at love and a whole lot of healing. They were both super intriguing and likable characters. Tucker and his found family of friends were an absolute delight to witness. They were beautiful in their love for one another. And chaotic in the way you expect of sports-dudes! Deo found so much more than a love story, and it was an incredible journey for him. He came into his own, and I love it for him. This series is going to be really special. Suddenly, Brewer’s living in my attic, his dainty teacups are in my cabinet, his slobbery dog is all up in my business, and I find myself renovating my whole future just as surely as Brewer’s...

REVIEW: Winter Wishes and Coffee Kisses by Ana Ashley (Love in Maplewood #1)

Image
WINTER WISHES AND COFFEE KISSES Love in Maplewood - Book One by Ana Ashley Release Date: May 16, 2025 Review I absolutely adore a small town shared universe. Especially a northern cold climate one.  Snow, festivals, maple syrup, they are all my romance happy place - but then I’m Canadian!  I love the interconnectedness, but also the different authors bringing their voice to it. Ana Ashley is a superb choice for starting this series off, she really knows how to capture a small town and writes such lovely romances. The new neighbour has moved to town in search of connection and a place to belong - and he fits in perfectly. The fact that his neighbour is a slightly closed off gorgeous man doesn’t hurt. Caspian is a sweetheart with such an optimistic and lovely nature. He’s a great mix for the brooding but caring and thoughtful Nate.  They have some drama, but not from any malice, and in the end they get a happy ending and a place to belong. We also get to meet a bunch...
